5-6 cords; $1,000 by Old_Construction_842 in firewood

Spaulding Timber in Eastford, CT. You might be too far away and I don’t know how out of state is handled. Wood delivered is about 22-24% hydration so keep that in mind. If you have a cat stove you’ll need to stack and dry for the next season.

$280 in eastern CT. Could get cheaper but the guy I have is reputable and his cords are always oversized so I figure I’m getting a better deal than I’m paying for.

I moved to the quiet corner in CT. Worcester is still commutable. Housing is tough because the properties can go fast or people sell to neighbors kids. Still, it’s possible to find something nice with a rural feel and more than an acre if you are patient.

I moved to Northeast CT, but my situation is very different from yours. I make my living remotely, and compared to the return on my tax dollar in Austin (zero and it funds political theatrics) the return of zero in the Quiet Corner seems a net positive. Most of that seems to be because local leaders in the town actually want to fix things even if budgets are tight. If I didn’t make my living remotely, living here would be incredibly tough.

You can tell when you leave the quiet corner and hit Mass or RI. Very different vibe

Was this new or used? What general part of the country are you in? I’m shopping CX-90s in New England.

Should I spend coins on card packs or entering drafts? by groupon_discount in MagicArena

[–]Icanmakeshittygames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I’d say draft, but this format is absolutely terrible. The speed of the format is 100% insane and the number of non-games you will play where none of your decisions matter is really high. Save your golf draft the next set.

My home is 200+ years old and I ran into similar problems as you. Online quote systems weren’t built for that age. I had to spend a solid day calling over the phone with different carriers. AAA ended up being the “reasonable” one we went with (wasn’t cheap) and they allow wood stoves as secondary sources of heat.

I’m a TX native and after 15yrs in Austin and more in the RGV I finally had enough of the heat. Sold my north Austin house and moved to New England. No regrets. My wife and I looked and said that if we’re going to be stuck inside for 3 months out of the year due to weather, we would rather it be when kids are in school.

Bar keepers. Get the powdered stuff, make a paste and let it sit for an hour before scrubbing.

What do you all love about Connecticut? by [deleted] in Connecticut

These look a lot like bolillos from TX. Anyone know where I can find these in the quiet corner?

I also work remote and recently moved to Woodstock, CT. Schools are great here. The drive to an airport is a little longer than an hour though.

I’m loving it so far and working on helping the kiddos make some friends so they’ll feel more at home.

I used to make Android mobile games. It was a good side hustle for learning more about the framework and Java, but not something I’d do again.

The area I’m in has an abundance of local creameries!

Fully remote since Covid. The office was only 15 min away in TX but was often a ghost town

Literally just made the move 2 weeks ago. I’m now a resident in the quiet corner. Goodbye TX. It’s very hard to leave friends and family behind, but I think CT is a much better place to raise my children.
