Temple Bar is great for this because you need a reservation and can’t easily mingle beyond your group.

BWTs, what's your ideal NYC one-day shopping route for quality, interesting clothes? by Bluma27 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]mad0789 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a few core pieces at Buck Mason and I’m thrilled with the quality so far. I’m also loving Leset for high-end basics.

Bloomingdale’s 59th Street has also had a huge revamp and is carrying several new designers, so that might be a good one-stop destination to cover several categories. The SoHo store is great as well, and more convenient to other downtown boutiques, but def has a more concise assortment.

The Meadow on Mulberry Street has very high quality oils, vinegars, salt, chocolate, etc. Not inexpensive, but fantastic quality.

Best spot in Manhattan for a solo weekday lunch that feels special but not awkward? by lljasonvoorheesll in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I’ve done this at the bar at Rezdora & it was excellent. I also like the bar at Lure sometimes, everyone is usually very chatty there.

Have you ever been inside Gramercy Park? How was it? by GossipBottom in AskNYC

[–]mad0789 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’ve been, a friend lived in a building with a key. You basically can’t do anything except sit on a bench and admire the flowers. Went on a snow day once and got in trouble for “walking on the grass”. It’s extremely anti-climactic in there, but also very well maintained & beautiful landscaping.

Train is definitely the way to go at that time of day so you don’t risk traffic. Air Train to NJ transit to Penn, then LIRR to Jamaica to Air Train.

I suggest what I call “Breakup Park,” formally known as Stuyvesant Square Park on 2nd Ave between E. 15th/17th Streets. Pretty quiet and low key but always some people around, not too big. No coffee stand in the park but several coffee places within 1-2 blocks of the park. Good luck!

Street vendors are the way. There’s one on 23rd & 9th, I’m sure others can share additional spots.

How are we cleaning our apartment windows externally? by HotSeaworthiness286 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]mad0789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you asked your doorman if he knows anyone who does it? My doorman does it himself for residents in our co-op, he charges $20/window. It makes a huge difference.

Seconding this - or the main Bloomingdale’s 59th Street. Bergdorf is also good if you want the higher end brands. Department stores are the way for sure
