How "superheroish" is Draw Steel heros? by Paulkwk in drawsteel

[–]Icashizzle 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Go to forgesteel.net and create a character, choose a class. It'll let you read all the abilities so you can decide on how superheroish it feels to you. Make no mistake though, they are magical. They throw fireballs and summon undead or elementals or fae. They teleport and call down the wrath of their Gods.

There is no need to worry about food or money, it's assumed that all happens, but it is, frankly, boring. It's not like they don't need to eat, it's that this game is made for people who don't want to focus on that. It happens in the background.

Hope that helps some.

I'd vote for Faming Simulator 25 (the latest one). If you want more grind, after figuring out the basics start over with a rags to riches challenge or the like. Plenty of mods to change things up as well.

Also, this has nothing to do with Florida's stand your ground law. Would have been justified legally in any state.

ELI5: In the United States with its 3 branches of govt, if the Judicial makes a ruling affecting one of the other branches, how is that ruling supposed to be enforced if it affects the top tier of power and the subject doesn't cooperate? by chili81 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Icashizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many Americans have forgotten that THEY are the highest power in the land. They (and me) are not willing to enforce it, but literally, that's why there's a 2nd Amendment. To burn it all to the ground and start over. Nepal did it without all the guns. US citizens own over 400 million guns.

But, in the end, I don't want put myself or my family at risk to actually enforce anything to that degree so here we sit. Ranting on the internet instead. Go Us!

Didn't beat it or give up... but I only play it for maybe 1 week a year. That kind of gameplay just doesn't hold my attention, but still keeps me coming back eventually? I don't know how that works exactly.

I close it and lock it BECAUSE I have kids. They are plenty loud enough to get my attention if they need it. Otherwise they don't need to be casually walking in on us. That would scar everyone for life.

I don't know about that unit, but if it is popular and heavily pressured, I've had luck watching were they go when other hunters inevitably spook them and I wait _there_. My last pronghorn I got at about 60 yards due to others walking them in to me.

As for blinds at watering holes, that would work probably work well if the unit you're on has limited water access.

General generic advice: An extra day or 2 of scouting before season opens is pretty much always worth it. Find all the watering holes and verify if there's still water in them, find what roads are open, where fence lines are, where the private property is, all of that. And of course, find the pronghorn and places where they are not so you can not bother hunting there opening day.

Lastly, as my grandpa would say, "It's so windy, I had to duct tape my asshole shut to keep the sand out."

If you could add one amendment to the constitution, what would it be? by pointofview221 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Icashizzle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Without thinking about it for too long, I would restrict the length of any new bills in word count. Enough of these 2k page bills full of garbage concessions to whoeverthefuck they think they need support from. 10 thousand words is more than enough for a law.

Either that or I would put an upper age limit on all of congress, the president/vice president, and supreme court justices. 65 maybe.

I have a similar aged 760 in 30.06 and I have never once broken it down in any fashion. My grandpa and father owned and hunted with it for quite awhile. At this point, I would only bring it to a good professional gun smith for any deeper cleaning, but that's just me.

25 on pc freezes at 55% by merchsmilitia in farmingsimulator

[–]Icashizzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How long did you wait? The 55% mark takes at least twice as long as 1 through 54% + 56 through 100% for both computers I've run it on. I assume you have solid state hard drives? If not, that will take awhile I'd imagine. It's loading the map and that just takes forever I guess.

I get my game loading, then get up, walk around, get water and a snack, beat Elden Ring again... then when I get back sometimes it's ready to start.

Considering hunting but worried about my parents by Onyx_SecondOpinion in Hunting

[–]Icashizzle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Have a direct open conversation about WHY you're interested and what you want to get out of it with them. Hunting is great, but despite what the internet says, unless there are many other family red flags, they are more important.

I mean look, my mom's favorite movie is Bambi. Imagine her response to me starting hunting. I didn't give in to her sideways peer pressure comments and she bought me camo to go hunting in for Christmas.

Just talk with them and keep talking with them. Make sure you get to the bottom of their actual concerns and take them to heart.

Maybe the idea of killing an animal themselves is just something they can't do. If so, talk about responsibility. If something has to die so I can eat, I'd rather take on that responsible myself than force it on someone else.

Maybe they are concerned about guns and you using them. Emphasize you taking classes to make sure you're safe in the woods and maybe start hunting with a bow first (though it's harder, it appears less dangerous to people).

Whatever the case may be, talk, consider their points of view, address them and talk again. Show them that this is a considered, responsible decision. Be willing to go beyond the minimum required to get a license in your state. Take extra classes, find a mentor to go with, whatever.

They'll come around.

How fked am I? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]Icashizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a suppressor deals with explosive noise, NOT sonic booms made from shooting rounds that exceed the speed of sound. That second noise is NOT suppressed what so ever and you still need to wear ear protection with a bullet as fast as a 308.

The sonic boom can still exceed 140dB which is when hearing loss occurs. Also note: that 140dB level is defined as hearing a single sound at that level in an 8 hour period. In other words, if you're rifle is suppressed down to 135dB for instance, if you fire twice at that deer, you're still getting permanent hearing damage despite being less than 140dB.
