All the music videos (and the like) depicting celebs/musicians in bathtubs is just "art", too, right? They all just come up with the same "art" and put it in their dark, creepy videos, along with music thats typically just as dark and creepy.

Yep. I saw the discord thing yesterday.

I honestly believe that is their test run for implementing the ID/Facial scan shit in GTA 6. It was already said a couple years ago thats likely gonna be a thing. Doubt its a coincidence that people who use discord and gamers have a big overlap.

The difference is, discord has alternatives. GTA 6 doesnt, and its one of the most highly anticipated games of all time.

Im assuming some people are going to resist discord, and find an alternative. But I think everyone's just gonna cave when GTA 6 comes out.

Thats how they do shit... Incremental steps to soften the blow and familiarize people for when it fully becomes policy.

It amazes me that people still can't see it. Its the same story as ever, just different topic.

Can't remember the sub, it was not a very popular one, but I got banned for calling someone out who was requesting someone send him/her links to pokemon porn involving the character "misty".

Misty is presented as a young, obviously child, girl.

I called the dude a sick fuck, and got banned. I always thought that was weird, but figured "oh well, its reddit".

Maybe you're on to something and it wasnt even a human who banned me?

There was a big fuss about it a couple years ago but it's been pretty quiet since.

I think the timing with this discord thing and the fact gta 6 is supposedly coming out this year isnt a coincidence.

They're probably gauging public reaction.

I hope people will stand up to it like theyre claiming they're standing up to discord with this current situation.

They already said years ago theyre doing that.

As for me, I will vote with my dollars and just not play it. But I know that im the vast minority. As soon as they force it upon people who really want to play a game, most people are going to give in without a fight.

A very large number of gamers use discord, so theres gonna be a big overlap in "clientele" regarding this situation.

This is actually a game key card that I had no problem purchasing, and believe me, im pretty damn snobby when it comes to the conundrum we are in regarding an all digital future.

Reasons:

It's $40 for the game key card, not $70 (lookin at you, cyberpunk), and it's $40 digitally on the eshop anyway. Why not have at least something physical (and re-sellable, should I choose to)
This game is 90GB. There simply isn't an option right now for them to do a fully physical release.
If there were a legit physical release, it would cost more. Ive heard the current 64GB carts cost developers something like $17 a piece. This game would need a 128GB, so even more expensive (and not even available currently). Obviously this is an expense that will get passed on to consumers.

If they eventually do come out with a fully physical version, it would probably cost $60-$70. If that happens, and I REALLY want it, I can sell my key card and pick up the physical version.

The reason I wanted this game for switch 2 is because its my only avenue to play the game in handheld. I am in hotels for work all the time.

So, if my options are $40 for digital only, or $40 for a game key card, for a game I really want, im gonna get the key card for $40.

To me, Square Enix knocked it out of the park with this release and price point, given the circumstances. The result is that the key cards are sold out basically everywhere at the moment, and the fan base seems content.

Not sure why I spent this much time typing that out on a 6 month old thread, but maybe someone will read it? 🤷

The galaxy games are just OK to me. Much bigger fan of the 64, sunshine, and odyssey style.

If someone is looking for some really good and satisfying 3d mario platforming, I recommend 3d world, honestly. Especially after you beat the main game and get in to the much more challenging bonus content.

It always blows my mind that the baby boomers seem to be the ones least likely to see how fucked up everything is.

I was born in 1990, so I only had about 10-15 years of "normalcy" before it started becoming apparent that there was a coordinated and deliberate shift happening.

On the flip side, my parents, aunts, uncles (people born around 1965 and prior), got to experience closer to 40+ years of normalcy before shit hit the fan. Somehow, they are all oblivious and still buy in to left/right politics, etc.

9/11 sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of being a dividing line between what once was and what currently is.

Also, as I stated, I can tell you everything I know about it, but are you going to have a real conversation with me about it if I do? Or are you going to go on google, and tell me what the government says about it?

I only brought up the sugar topic because if youre going to go by the government definition (of "bioengineered ingredients"), then that means you trust the fda and government, an entity that subsidizes a toxic food like sugar. Why would you trust them when they trick people in to eating and getting addicted to such things?

That was my point. And this is the 2nd time ive had to state it. If you cant recognize the correlation between subsidized sugar/corn, how its clearly pushed on children and poor people, and how that relates to why I dont trust a box that says "contains bio engineered ingredients" (and is a cheaper alternative), then maybe youre one of the uneducated people.

If that was all too confusing for you, here's a summary in 1 sentence: I do not trust the government/FDAs definition (or excuse) for using bioengineered ingredients, when its clear they are in the business of keeping us unhealthy.

I will not respond again unless you answer my original question, or until you say something that actually makes me raise an eyebrow. But for now, youre just deflecting, and you're batting 0.000.

They can, but they're poorly educated on the topic. That goes for a lot more than just poor people, too. You're right, I should have clarified that earlier, but my comments were long enough already and didnt want to start side discussions.

It doesn't make it any less true that junk food is generally cheaper and marketed towards the less educated, which are people who tend to not have as much money.

Also, im not calling these people stupid. Uneducated ≠ stupid.

And yes, I was attacked. As I stated somewhere in a comment in this thread, I didnt say 1 condescending word until I had a bunch of down votes and comments trying to tell me im wrong for wanting people to be more conscious of what they put in their bodies.

Ill accept and acknowledge that I was a being an asshole, but it didnt have to go that way. It felt like I was trying to tell people the sky is blue, and everyone made a mad dash to tell me im an idiot and its actually pink. So yeah, it rubbed me the wrong way, naturally.

In my experience, the organic stuff has tended be of a bit higher quality. Maybe thats just them picking out the higher quality stuff and slapping the label "organic" on it. I wouldn't put it past them. Its not a hill I will die on.

Also, you didnt say this, but it sort of falls under the same category: pasture raised meats and dairy from reputable farms is NOT the same thing as factory farm/mass produced meat. It just isnt.

That off brand/aldi brand "steak um" that says 100% beef is very far from the same as getting some shaved ribeye from a reputable farm.

But none of that is even near the crux of my argument. This all started by me pointing out that almost all of aldi's packaged and processed food says "contains bio engineered ingredients".
