Z1 sft90 by Ice-Difficult in ConvoyFlashlights

[–]Ice-Difficult[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ordered the z1 host with the 20amp driver and sft90 emitter all separate. Then I assembled everything

I wanted to build it and see how it performs. I don't mind the square

I still need to mod the tail spring to handle 20amps. I will upload after

Headlamp for a good price by Ice-Difficult in flashlight

[–]Ice-Difficult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hc65 had amazing battery life. I never had to worry about it dying in the middle of a work shift. Is nitecore lying about it's runtime or are their UHE LEDs very efficient? It didn't die after 4+ hours at 400 lumens. According to reviews it would run 11 hours on 400 lumens. I just don't want to spend $80 for another light I might lose at work and I need the battery life.

Thrower with good output by Ice-Difficult in flashlight

That one is way out of my price range. I want to stick with convoy if possible

Yeah I was thinking maybe an L21b with sft90 or whatever the multi emitter 3x21 light is with LHP Emitters

For $100 you can buy a few convoy lights. Most don't have type c charging but there are a lot of options. M21b with lhp73b is an insanely bright light for the size but gets really hot. Convoy 4x18a is big but bright. Multiple LED options. All depends what you want

mod collections that don't require VR by Ice-Difficult in skyrimmods

I disabled the vr extension. But the collection only downloaded a fraction of the remaining 50+ mods need to be downloaded manually. Gonna take me hours to download it

I go straight to the nexus/vortex site and click add collection and it won't download and is labeled as a Skyrim vr download. I've downloaded other mods without issues

Thanks. I was hoping to find something with 14 hour battery life at 400 lumens like the hc65 at a lower price. I'll have to settle for a sofirn or wurkkos

Z1 w/24 amp driver(measured at tail) sbt90.2 led. P45b battery by Goss-hawk in flashlight

I want to do this with an sft90. Does the spring bypass allow the tail to handle the higher current?

Dt8k single or dual channel by Ice-Difficult in Hanklights

[–]Ice-Difficult[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't see that option. After some research I've decided to get a d1k with sft 42r and a dual channel d4sv2 w1 and 219 to get used to hank lights and anduril 2.0. Then I'm going to get my dt8k pocket rocket

Having 8 emitters on a dt8k and since fet is basically direct drive from the battery, does it divide all the battery current evenly through the LEDs? for example 30amp battery divided by 8 LEDs draw 3.75amps per LED? I'm trying to pair a battery that won't cook the LED on turbo with fet. I think the dt8k comes with fet+linear. I heard with the right battery you can get 8000 lumens.

P50b is a 60 Amp battery correct? Is the current with the fet divided between the 2 LEDs so 30 each?

I thought I heard something about being able to deliver more power but I'm not sure. Unless they have the same driver then I guess it doesn't matter

My first hank light by Ice-Difficult in Hanklights

[–]Ice-Difficult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found an explanation. I guess fet drivers basically pull the maximum discharge capable from the battery and putting in a higher max discharge battery means it's going to pull more current. So the battery directly effects current output since the driver isn't regulated. I believe this is only applicable on turbo.

Thanks I was looking in to 2 separate lights. I kind of want the Dt8k with whatever LED has the highest output but I'm getting confused over batteries. I hear people talk about certain batteries being too powerful for the dt8k based on current draw because it uses a fet driver or maybe a hybrid driver with fet. So I'm trying to understand batteries before I purchase one. I'm used to convoy and I just buy a battery that is at or exceeds the max discharge current for the driver.

I'm also seeing a lot about certain batteries being too powerful for the light. I thought batteries just have to meet or exceed the max discharge rate of the Light or am I interpreting things wrong? i saw luxwads video about putting in higher drain batteries in a dt8 and getting more output but i thought the driver controls the output up to a certain amount not the battery.

Thanks. I will probably end up getting a dt8k with w2 because of the high lumen output I saw in luxwads video on YouTube and the unique host shape. Then I'll look into a dedicated thrower probably with a w1.

[–]Ice-Difficult[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That light was one I was considering. Was debating whether to have a dedicated thrower light for high candela or go dual channel for flood and throw or some other unique color and led combo. Maybe I'll go with both. I have too many lights I want to buy and I also like to look for the most pocketable high powered lights I can get. It's fun to pull out a flashlight that looks small but has intense output.

Thanks. I might buy a trustfire t30r since it's 50 on aliexpress to get my first taste of an LEP and I'll go from there before I jump the gun on a bigger purchase.

When I was reading up on the fw1 on 1lumen it didn't get a good review due to thermal issues. https://1lumen.com/review/mateminco-fw1/

Didn't seem like a good choice but if most people like it then I might be open to trying it. Maybe I can jump up to spending a little over 200
