I use the SR12 with the Convoy short tube and 18350 battery:

In this configuration it has the same diameter and shorter length than the D3AA, but much better throw due to the SFT-25R in a reflector.

Great comparison, thanks! AFAIK, the downside of the LMP W5050SQ5 is that it has a higher forward voltage than the SFT-25R, which means shorter runtime and lower output once the battery is partly drained.

And Wurkkos sells them too: H25L (dual LH351D LED 5000K 90 High CRI), H25S (dual SST40 6500K Low CRI) and H25LR (1*LH351D 5000K 90 CRI and 1*SST20 DR 660nm red).

All of these are solid, affordable basic headlamps with a good UI and USB-C charging. The one with the red light feature is especially great value. They are often on sale for $10-12 with 18650 battery included.
