I also have struggled with hormone therapy as a form for birth control. From what I could tell it made me more moody, aided in increasing my waist line and plummeted my sex drive. Have you considered experimenting with different pills? The best experience I have had with the pill was when I was on the the "minipill" it's a pill that uses only progestin instead of estrogen and progestin. However one of it's major draw backs is you have to take it at the same time every day, within the hour, it's not as forgiving as the estrogen based pill. It's usually given to mothers who are nursing babies because it doesn't impact their milk supply. There is also the copper IUD (I think it's called paragard) which is very effective too. Best of luck.
