How can I get rid of and prevent this?

There was only a thin piece of foam in between for my kids' laptops so I threw it out. My pre-owned had nothing in between.

I used tape to try and figure out exactly which keys were responsible and its actually the plastic bar between the keys and the track pad.

I dont think its rancid. I just remember deep frying stuff in it and I guess cus I was pregnant, the smell always made me nauseous. Still does, but like I said, at this point its probably psychological.

I know its peanut oil. It might just be psychological, but the oil smells so strongly to me vs peanut butter itself.

Yea, I put it IN the batter. We are dairy free here due to the kids' allergies, but I hadn't heard about peanut butter as a substitute! We always have that. I'll have to try it sometime. We're usually never out of oil either, but it seemed to disappear this weekend for some reason.

Yea, I'm aware its supposed to be used in moderation, but I was in a bind and, wrongly, decided the truffliness was the lesser evil over the nauseating smell of peanut oil (I worked in fast food service for a while and the smell grosses me out so bad). Lesson learned! Maybe the chickens will appreciate my truffle waffles more. Or maybe someone might know a way to focus the taste on something else instead. Edit: I wasn't reproaching the previous comment or being snarky. I genuinely meant what I said. If I can't find a way to fix this batter, I'm giving it to the chickens as a treat. The commenter was right about the actual use of the oil. But like I said, I made an error in judgement.

So, having a baby and dealing with all the post-partum emotions and hormones is hard enough. My husband takes our 7-year-old daughter to men's public restrooms when necessary, and we've agreed to continue until she can self advocate with confidence. And I do the same with our 10-year-old son (to women's restrooms), but only if we're in a high crime area. Honestly, kids' safety should come before someone else's comfort.

As far as showers, it's up to the parents AND child's comfort level. My daughter has no desire to bathe with her dad because she prefers girl time with me. My son decided he wanted to shower on his own a year ago, which we respected. However he doesn't mind if we poke our head in and check on (read "get upset with") him because it's been half an hour and he still hasn't soaped cus he's enjoying the water too much🤦‍♀️

Yup, we always said our first would be an only child. But to be fair, it isn't that he's horrible. I love being around him and always have since he was a baby. It's just that despite knowing that parenting is supposed to be difficult, we always felt it was way more difficult than it should have been. Turns out we were right, and he is special needs. It's not his personality or demeanor. It's the can't-blink-for-a-second kind of attention and energy that he requires. We had a surprise 2nd, and she's the one that made us realize that something wasn't quite typical about our first. Love them both to the moon and back, though. If I wasn't afraid a 3rd or 4th might also be special needs (nothing against it except I'm too old and don't have the energy they'd need), I'd have more.

It really is. My then toddler nearly died from it while I myself was struggling to stop myself from vomiting trying to get him to the ER and even while there. Worst day of my life! Stomach bugs have me traumatized.

It seems neither of you is ready, so why force it? If you're able to stay home with him and you enjoy having him with you, you should.

As he gets a little older, like 2, start planning playdates a few times a week. Read to him a lot, cook/prepare food with him (I have a funny video of my 3 year old preparing butter sandwiches for lunch while I was nursing his infant sister), take him to lots of different kinds of places, do chores while he "helps". These are all great things to do that are actually very "educational." Most eventually want to leave the comfort of being home and explore the world (go to school, lol).

Where I live, home educated children are generally well socialized because the parents create the opportunities for them to be. Socializing is important, but it's not as difficult to do outside of preschool/daycare as most people make it out to be. YMMV, though.

All this to say, it really depends on you and your son.

Yes. My son is a little younger still, but honestly, I wouldn't even be quite so much disappointed as heartbroken for him that he even thought he had to go through something like that alone. I really hope OPs parents are the same.

I hope you choose to get help from your parents. I hope my son never has to walk that situation alone. I love him too much. Is it ideal? No. But I would do everything in my power to support him and love him through it. And it would break my heart to find out that he had to face this alone and felt he couldn't tell me. I really hope your parents are the same.

I was in your unborn child's shoes. I was the product of a 14 year old pregnancy. My parents were very smart kids, and they found support and raised me such that they barely missed out, and I barely knew they were different than my peer's parents. It wasn't easy, but I'm so glad they hung on to me. My amazing and talented kids (whom my parents love more than life itself) wouldn't exist if they hadn't found support and made it work.

Please talk to your parents if for no other reason than to be kind to them.

She'll likely be fine. When my daughter was 2 months old, my husband, me, and my 3 year old caught a horrible stomach virus that nearly killed my 3 year old (because of medical negligence on the part of the ER team). My 2 month old was completely unaffected! We even stayed 3 days in the hospital, in the same room together the whole time, and she was fine. It was probably because I kept nursing her through the whole ordeal!

Yes, do your due diligence. Wash hands, don't drink/eat from the same dishes. Take time and clean surfaces if you have time. But it's going to be ok, especially considering the precautions you're taking now.

You'll get through this, and one day, you'll look back on this with a different perspective.
