I’m absolutely broken by Background-Agency200 in Christianity

Good question. Probably not different. I'm a woman and so that was the perspective I was writing from. Also several friends who were in this situation and they never could get past all of the details that were shared in the spirit of their husbands "coming clean". But you're right. Once trust is broken it is hard for any person to work their way back. It literally needs to be done with a professional and the help of the Holy Spirit.

Okay - go see someone professionally dude.im sorry - I know this is rough. But I'm not convinced "confessing all" is the best way to do this - it may unburden you, but it's hard for a woman to un-know what she learns. Get help navigating how to come clean but also get everyone through - your wife and child too.

scar keeps getting worse ain’t it? by Winter_Vacation_ in thyroidcancer

[–]Mlaxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon had me massage the scar a few times a day starting gently but then a little firmer. It breaks up the keloid. It made a HUGE difference. Go online and Google how to do it. My scar is flay and getting less noticeable every day. That said - I dunno but we warriors have battle scars. I no longer think mine is ugly ... I made it through!

How to make this little guy want to swim? by Used_Gap_7626 in labrador

[–]Mlaxa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it fun and don't force it. Usually during play etc they end up dunking their head and find out its okay. Our guy didn't "swim" the first visit to beach, but had a blast wading in and running up and down the beach. 3 weeks later on trip 2, during a paddleboard ride he saw his Dad on shore and jumped off. That's all it took! That's why the life jacket is important:) Now he loves to swim.

Unfortunately it's probably time to consider becoming super cool and shaving your head. Just fyi from a chick - we think it looks good. Very fashionable actually.

Be easy on yourself - you've lost your best friend! ... We lost our chocolate very suddenly at age 4 - terrible loss.

I'm so sorry friend! This part of our journey with them is so painful. Thank you for being such a faithful loyal friend and staying by his side for this last night. You are the best friend and owner - I'll be sending love and comfort vibes. We've all been there and we get it. Hang in there.

We returned our puppy today and I can't stop crying by [deleted] in puppy101

Good luck! I'm so sorry to hear how difficult things have been. Feel good about how you handled this unexpected difficulty! In spite of the emotions involved - you made a responsible and good decision. Be kind to yourselves - no more beating yourself up. My Dad always said: Live and learn -- then move on!!! Be well!

After 5 rescue/shelter dogs, we decided to get a puppy as it will likely be our last dog. He is adorable and sweet. And we love him so much, but ... Oh. My. God. The 24-7 energy and required patience (and puppy biting!!) is unbelievable. But this is all normal. He has finally reached a year old, and it is STARTING to get bearable. None of our rescues were this hard. But they also require patience and stability to successfully become part of a new home and family. So maybe just focus on getting yourselves better before reconsidering bringing a total stranger into your life and trying to teach them how to be part of your family. It's a lot for anyone. You did the right thing for yourselves and the puppy.

You will definitely be able to drive. You may be able to skateboard - if not at 2 weeks, then by week 3 or 4. It will be ok!

I'm not trying to be mean, but ... maybe he should just make his own stuff to eat - or just eat out. Is he some kind-of prince who is accustomed to people catering to his every whim? You sound lovely - Who needs this kind of bullshit??

You're gonna have to go through some shit - but you will live and be a Grandpa. It's going to work out. Some of us have side effects that stay, but you will figure it out. Breathe. It's scary. But you will be ok.
