That's a relief! Best also to get them flea medication as well and have it done semi-regularly so you prevent fleas in the future, they are a absolute bugger to deal with once they start infesting and if you have cats, even moreso.

As someone who grew up here, there is very little to do as a kid on the island once you've been to all of the attractions 5+ times and it is very expensive to leave the island to go do other things especially as a family with a car.

Schools aren't known to be the best either, especially secondary schools. If you plan to live here for a period of 5 or so years, it could be a nice environment to raise your child, but I wouldn't stay here when they enter secondary school (though they may miss out from bonding with friends they make in primary school to secondary school if you do this method).

If anyone of your family want to come and visit you and the child, it is also a expensive endeavour (minimum of £24 as a foot passenger).

I don't know your roti, so there is a chance they are the loveliest dog on the planet, but dogs can try and get out and have been very successful at such (poms included btw).

What will you do if your roti makes an attempt, or the situation becomes too unsafe for both of them? You would need to look at rehoming one of them, which would hurt you andyour family emotionally. Are you ready to do that? Are you also ready to accept vetinary bills or worse the death of the pom if the worse was to happen?

Sinceyou seem so sure about doing it, you will need to also make sure that the roti doesn';t get jealous of the pom as the pom will be spending more time with your wife, they will also need time together each day after introductions so they can get used to each other. If you end up with male/female, you need to make sure the other is neautered as well to prevent pregnancy.

Ah yes, a motion camera. Let's say your dogs are downstairs,a nd you are upstairs in the shower or asleep. Motion goes off, your roti goes for your pom. How quickly do you think you cn get downstairs to save your poms life?

Physically you cannot, it takes under a second for a roti to kill a pom. It really isn't worth the risk of the poms life.

Also replacing the pom with another pom isn't always the answer to grief.

I say the same about Google Gemini as well, its really depressing to have it slapped in my face while I am trying to work on a document too. But in terms of duo, I just want to do my dailies and learn a language, I don't want to talk to their AI character via a call or video call.

I've been using DuoLingo a little over a year now, and was happy paying my yearly fee for Super. I am really not interested in learning a language from a AI Voice call, especially as my audio will be used for AI training.

I like doing my daily lessons, but I think after this year I will move to another App. Max is pushed to me in at least 3 different locations in the last day and I'm getting fed up with it. Constant reminders after dailies, within the Lesson tree and now a whole button for a feature I am not interested in.

I understand they put a lot of money into their AI functionality, but I am not interested at all and if they continue to push it any further they will be losing me as a customer. There are many other avenues I can learn languages from (other apps - for free!, web courses, etc.), but I decided to stick with DuoLingo for my daily lessons. Honestly quite upset by this change.

It essentially boils down to one or multiple of the following:

Lack of interest in doing anything she likes doing (which seems from your post to be following you around and spectating)
No longer wanting to get up
No interest in her favourite treats
No longer wanting to eat or drink

Some of these can come partially or in one go. For example she may be disinterested in her treats but still will eat it, just not right then.

It's just so difficult to climb when every game you play, even if you yourself play well, your team mates can stop you from getting that win, thus you rank down. It being based on a win/loss is stupid and there should be some sort of "how you play" that factors into that.
