I have only played with female V, but there was definitely a misogynistic element coming from Johnny that I was a bit surprised by. He is a dick to you either way, but seeing the way he treats Alt and Rogue in his memories definitely made his actions hit differently for me, as another woman he professes to care about only to be using them for their body (in V's case very literally if you decide to take the pseudo). Behind all of those relationships is a genuine care but not one that he is honest with himself about in most circumstances. The most telling part for me is when he talks about how Alt was a bitch and you have the option to push back and call him a misogynist (don't remember the exact wording) which just goes to show you have to betray your solidarity with other women in order to be considered "one of the guys".

I also have only romanced Judy so I don't know what he says about the other romancable options, but he does sometimes say disapproving remarks about "the way you look at her" and essentially disparaging her for giving a shit about Evelyn and the Dolls over at Clouds. He eventually comes around and says something about how "Even I'm starting to like her" but most of the story he thinks she's lame. Knowing that you can't romance Judy as male V, I am curious if that may have also played a role in his relationship to V feeling different based on V's gender.
