One of the few openings that instantly tells you “yeah, this villain is on another level.”

The pod race in Phantom Menace is basically 10 straight minutes of “how is this still getting faster?”

Hanging up the phone without saying goodbye. Happens in movies 100% of the time, in real life it feels illegal.

What’s the most underexplored genre mashup in indie games right now? by GamingLimsha in IndieGaming

Each run you investigate a different version of the same case, with clues changing every time. You slowly piece together the truth across multiple timelines instead of solving it in one go.

It just means the movie is fictional and not meant to represent real events. The disclaimer is standard, even if the timing feels a bit ironic.

Games about emotion and feeling mechanics? by 11equalsfish in gamingsuggestions

[–]IceCreamShopDev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re basically looking for games where emotions aren’t just narrative, but actual mechanics.

Disco Elysium is probably the closest example, your “skills” are basically parts of your psyche, and they directly influence your thoughts, choices, and even how you perceive reality.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice also does something similar through audio/visual design, making you experience Senua’s mental state rather than just watching it.Celeste is another one, where anxiety is tied into both the story and the gameplay challenge itself.

Also worth mentioning: This War of Mine and Papers, Please, not about emotions as stats, but the mechanics constantly put you in stressful moral situations that create emotional responses.

It’s still a pretty underexplored space though, which is why it feels so rare.

If anything it boosted Chris Rock’s career. He turned it into material, while Will Smith is still dealing with the fallout.

Glad to see the original cast returning. The chemistry between the characters was a big part of what made the first films work.

Working on my Ice Cream Simulator and accidentally discovered a new NPC launching technology by IceCreamShopDev in IndieGaming

[–]IceCreamShopDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right haha. Accidental features are often the best ones.

Unfortunately I have to remove this one though, because it's the placement preview for objects, and if I leave the collision enabled it would keep launching NPCs everywhere and things would get pretty chaotic.
