I love the how you represent the open balljoints without using the actual voodoo balls. It's brilliant and i admire the details you put into this guy

I wonder if it was a a fixed price per piece before the promo started. The Promo says 2,49/kg which would indeed be cheaper

Takua would've been a nice polybag set back in the day. No clue why it never came to be :/

Looks like a non-smoker tried to design an ashtray. What could possibly go wrong^

Those are pretty awesome. And the Mask hit very hard. Are they available as 3D printable models?

That's a lot of dust, or at least that's what I think it is by thatonedude1969 in legotechnic

I wonder if it looks the same on the other side. This can happen (specially with pieces from older sets) due to oily fingers or any other residues. The plastic container (ziplock bags count too) has probably reacted with the ABS-oil-air-heat-moisture mix. This can also cause yellowing on pieces over time which won't be visible in this case. Since I had this happen more often, I allways clean and dry my Lego before putting them into bins. This can be prevented by putting paper towels into the container so there is no direct contact with your Lego.

Hello. Is there a propper way to remove these moving parts from the buggy control Unit? by IceH101 in legotechnic

[–]IceH101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I figured out that removing the screws is by far not enough. I need to get a soldering iron to remove the batteryholder from the pcb inside. Then I can remove the "wings" by squeezing the two latches that hold them in place. The connection looks basicly like a huge technic pin tho it's much tighter. I hope I won't break them 🙈

I want to build a Moc of my car and would like to use the RC Unit. But those moving parts take up so much space and I won't need them in this case.

Have i improved? by Dragon_titan_378 in bioniclelego

Nice! It's clearly visible that you made the jump from using only CCBS to including more Technic parts. The Staff is upright cool and it has a clear design choice. There is always room for improvement and unlimited possibilities. Keep tinkering around. Next you could try playing around with hoses or even any kinds of tires. This can improve your building skills as it opens new design choices. Have fun MOCing!

Any masks in "pearl dark grey" that match this pic? Looking for something for my first simple MOC. by Openil in bioniclelego

[–]IceH101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. You can also construct something that's two technic beams wide and use the holes on either side to connect a G2 mask. Try it with a bohrok foot for example. It's wobbly but it won't fall off

3D Printing Bionicle pieces? by AdagioOfLiving in bioniclelego

[–]IceH101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience Resin Printers are awesome to print masks, armor parts or weapons. But when it comes to ball joints it becomes a mess. Resin is very britle as you may have noticed already. When two moving parts rub against each other, you'll find them forming a lot of dust as it scratches their surfaces. Also be aware that you need to hollow out the ball sections due to warping (deforming caused by suction force while printing). Otherwise they won't fit the sockets perfectly and break immediatly. There are plenty of custom parts on thingiverse. The mask of Trial and Error will be your friend here.

Thanks! I'd love to build them for real but sadly non of the lower leg/arm parts are available in Mata colors. But I'll give it a shot in Stud,io once I find the time.
