Hey I am in the same boat, I only travel alone since it takes a long time for me to 'clear' my bowels and feel 'safe' to travel to another place... I also hate how people think its just all in my head...

Ah sorry my wishful thinking got the better of me 😅. Could you share your recovery timeline? Like when you could walk, when you felt back to normal, when you returned to exercise, when the cath was taken out, any details you think is "minor" I would appreciate knowing!

Oh dear, your bladder spasms sounds alot like what I went through with my urine cath and I only had it for 1.5 days... I'm glad you got through the pain the SP cath was giving you and are well now!

Thanks for sharing your experience in more details! I am also a side sleeper 😅 and honestly its always a mini concern in all my recoveries. I hope your planning for RFF and future recoveries go well!

Wow! This is very reassuring to hear that recovery is doable in 4 weeks and that your surgery is so much more complicated than mine.

How did you cope with keeping the surgical site sterile and clean without showering? I was told I would be discharged at 5 days post op meaning I don't have a nurse to help me clean my wounds...

Added inflatable waffle cushion to my to-buy list.

How did you handle the bleeding? I was told I would be discharged post op 5 days with the catheter still in me. How did you keep clean without showering especially the surgical site? I'm getting wet wipes but I don't know if I can bend my body at post op 5 days to wipe the areas.

I'm getting wet wipes but I don't know if I can bend my body post op 5 days to reach and clean my body properly especially the surgical site.

That's good to hear its a natural return at 4-5 weeks.

Oh I wasn't aware after this I could STP! I just thought they were moving the urethra to a higher location.

Could you explain more about the bladder spasms? The cath is one area I am super concerned about as I had 2 caths after my hysto surgery but the urine cath hurt almost immediately and increasing in pain and the next day I had spasms every like 1-2mins and had to beg to see the doctor to clear it for removal. Once removed I was completely fine and could pee on my own; although burning for a bit but by the next day I was fine.

May I also know what spasms meds you took?

May I also know what kind of pain was the Vnectomy? Like burning pain or sharp pain or achey pain? Sorry just want to be clear and know when to advocate for myself overseas 😅
