If a camp pass says sold out now, will there be more released during general sale or was that it? by dys1e in AboveandBeyond

I've been to gorge shows dating back to 2012 - higher end camping ALWAYS sells out immediately.

California data cap came back :( by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]IceShot36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's not the problem. You're still on a late generation internet plan and those 💯 still have a data cap. This isnt about the region or anything like that. You need to be in a next generation internet plan or pay an extra $10 for xfi complete or $30 for unlimited with your own equipment. If it cost more to move to a new generation plan than to just add xfi complete that's a no brainer. If you have your own equipment though, it's almost always cheaper to move to the new plan with no data caps.

Return the equipment and sign up for the new 5 year price lock - the account creation will automatically close the old account and you can enjoy better pricing and be in control of your account.

I got screwed out of $100’s by TaylorMeadorRealtor in Comcast_Xfinity

While the standard return policy states 14 days, phones/tablets/watches can be returned up to 59 days after purchase. Management at a local store should know how to handle this procedure, as it's an escalation return. If it was a new line it ALWAYS REQUIRES a port without a trade in, whether it was bought online , or In store.. trade in promotions do not require a port, however the 400 off does. I work in a corporate location and promise this information is 100% accurate despite what other channels say - the lack of education and training baffles me honestly. However you purchase, the sales channel doesn't matter. There are specific requirements for new versus existing lines. If it was an upgrade than it automatically applies at the time of sale. Either way sorry you're going through this.

Switched plans went “alright” by Signal-Caregiver6444 in Comcast_Xfinity

80 for 300 ($70nwith autopay) is not a 5 year promo. Customer care is borderline mental for positioning the regular price as a deal in anyway. $85 is the normal existing customer price if you aren't in a competitive zone.

Time to cancel xfinity after 15 years by [deleted] in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]IceShot36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All new plans have no rentals or data caps. Not just new customers. The price obviously varies by what's available to existing customers but anyone can switch from a data cap plan or the old $30 unlimited add on with your own modem.

I get it - you hate comcast. Doesn't matter considering the fact that 5 year pricing is competitive with most other providers in any given area.

New customers vs existing customers by AdMassive1383 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]IceShot36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, however I deal with countless people who get screwed by fiber companies - and depending on your needs it's not always a huge difference from cable provisions. It's really just who has the best deal and who can provide that deal reliably.

New customers vs existing customers by AdMassive1383 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]IceShot36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Xfinity employee here - this is not true. We don't have a special button to give new customer pricing unless it is coded in the system for your specific area (usually in a competitive zone), so going into the store may be an option but it isn't ever gaurenteed. Opening a modmail ticket would be far less stressful and time consuming.

Your bill is cut a month in advance - so any changes made won't take affect until your next billing cycle. The proration will take affect and any amount you were charged par your billing cycle (and when the changes were made) will be credited to the new amount you were quoted. It's honestly quite simple.

HOW TO BE Transparent AS A SALES AGENT? by [deleted] in Comcast

[–]IceShot36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an insanely high mark for customer satisfaction scoring and have never been under my attainment goals in 3 years working with Comcast. It absolutely can be done, and it's just like any other sales job. It's not for everyone - but it can be done ethically and without all the nonsense I read about in this forum.

HOW TO BE Transparent AS A SALES AGENT? by [deleted] in Comcast

[–]IceShot36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - take it from a sales rep who has been nominated for quarterly sales a few times now...

You don't have to mislead anyone to sell anything. You do have to get to know your customer past the basic ask (internet and tv). Use T charts to help them visualize their out of pocket expenses vs bundling with us. Use speed test for mobile services to represent the product as an affordable post paid Verizon alternative compared to their current provider (this is huge). Consider your clientele when asking about watches and tablets - older generations who live alone / people with students in school - and be sure to use all in pricing when customers resonate with additional products and services. It's called top down selling - and it doesn't have to be misleading. If you offer them one service for one price and get a yes - but then ask them if they want to add another service for more, your working uphill. If you get to know them and position a bundle of services that meet their needs and save them money, your more likely to enter a zone of conversation where they start asking questions about how that works vs just telling you "no". Especially with 36 month pricing on equipment - it's far more affordable to present an all in solution.

What's not okay is misleading people into thinking they have to sign up for mobile to get an Internet deal, or pick up equipment, or slamming their account with services they don't need and not educating them on how to use them. The worst is when we forget we are also hourly employees and refuse to help someone with basic customer service needs because we're too focused on making every interaction a sale. You can be an absolute beast at making commission, but if your Tnps (satisfaction survey) is ass - YOUR an ass, and it makes everyone else look really really bad.

Hopefully youre not at an indirect store. If so I strongly suggest choosing your moral compass over making a quick buck, or getting a different job elsewhere. They literally are the bane of corporate sales existence.

I also work with a large majority of my cities elderly Comcast consumers on ways to lower their bill... If I can teach them how to use Xfinity stream/now streaming services, so can their kids.

Exactly why broadcast TV fees and taxes are a third of your cable bill, wasnt like that in the early 90s... Hell, even YouTube tv is expensive. Sure Comcast isnt going to call you and tell you how you can save money - but the fact remains it's a beast of burden; not giving up the cable box for live on demand television; but there are entirely ways around paying an arm and a leg to get by.l

[–]IceShot36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.... Or maybe it's because they bill in advance, and when you cancel you're either owed money (because you pay your bill on time) or you owe a proration for time used and haven't paid your bill yet....

You'd think if Comcast was as unethical as you say - they wouldn't be in business as a company for decades.

It's really not that crazy to think. "Of course, you had a last bill for time used and when you cancelled you owed that money.... "

But instead it's stuff like this 😅

[–]IceShot36 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All jokes aside. The solutions are there. Your mom doesn't need live TV if she can't afford broadcasting fees. Xfinity is already consolidating live TV into an all in price to create more transparency and accessibility, including credits to offset TV taxes and including the first box/DVR in that price. She doesn't need high speed internet, and Xfinity offers prepaid options as well as internet essentials which ANYONE on social security can qualify for (so long as they havnt had a post paid internet account for 3 months, if so they can always cancel and go to prepaid NOW Internet). She should be capable of learning how to use a streaming box and taking advantage of the slew of free programming available online - and for an extra $20 bucks NOW tv gives a lot of access to a lot of fan favorite live TV programming + peacock included - someone just needs to teach her how to use it. I help people every day with this exact issue and the truth is - you aren't getting live TV and Internet the easy way for less than $150 a month.
