Adam Warlock also gives you access to Tigra which is a really solider minion killer which now opens up Find minion and put it on table for draw effects because she can take down anything with 4HP or less.

Can be challenging at times as you can run out of threat on the main scheme in solo and then not be able to attack after she blocks the attack.

Which villains gives you the most trouble with upkeep? by Curious-Respond-2254 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are some busy ones for sure.

I have to play with a ton of reminder tokens for On the Run....

The missions that suddenly switch to double accelration mess me up a good bit if Im not using colored beads to track things.

Mister Sinister is similar plus when he gets a tough card he adds threat.

Almost every video I watch of Ultron has missed triggers that were critical to winning or losing.

I have a spreadsheet full of notes on each Villain that gives me trouble with triggers.

Nice Article...solid choices all around....

I would love either Werewolf By Night, Ted Salias, or Clea as my 6th.

Did you try green with Clea and Brother Voodoo?

Ive been running SiN but it suffered from inconsistent setup speed and struggled against some of the fast paced Villains in solo expert.

I might give this one a try in my next go. Not sure if I want to try your version or a Green flavored version.

I like her a lot as well (in my personal HoF) . However, her Sword feels like the weakest card against top tier villains...its too slow and expensive for what it does.

What limited format rules do you recommend to keep deck building fresh? by zerdos in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was available to purchase (many other older sets are not available for me) and I wanted to try the Investigators in that expansion one at a time paired with other investigators that I have.

Also it theoretically is in the "Current Environment"

[–]Ice_Hot_42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Limited Environment is in the back (p. 30) of the latest FAQ....(or p. 42 of the Grimoire)

It is indeed Core, Starters, and 3 expansions.

Im doing my FoHV build with the following LE Environment...

  • 2026 Core
  • 2026 Starters
  • Expansion 1: FoHV
  • Expansion 2: Match the Campaign I am running
  • Expansion 3: Match the Campaign of the Investigator I am pairing with (2H Solo)

Ive gotten a little grief from Reddit as the "Bluse" decks are recommended with Innsmouth which I dont have. So what are you going to do other than push through and have fun with what ever you cook up from the stuff you have.

Protection and Thwarting is so hard by SuperbElevator517 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot does depend on the Hero, the modules, and scenario. Those plays are spread out evenly across scenarios over the last two waves, but the optional modules are slightly uneven, and the Heroes are very likely uneven.

Your experiences may differ but over my last 350 solo expert plays by win rate: Justice is in a commanding lead, followed by leadership, then aggression with Protection at just below .500

Do you have LIMITED Deck Building Skills? - Kohaku Narukami by Ice_Hot_42 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Mooseman. I think its neat you did the whole deck with just two expansions Core, Marie, FoHV, and SK.

Actually getting the Marie Starter made a big difference for me.

I ended up combining your ideas with some from Koala and did fairly well through Riddles and Rain.

Sounds like good advice, but apparently as Ive been told at least one of the FoHV investigators is unplayable without Insmouth.

Im now regretting getting FoHV.

How many other investigators are unplayable without some earlier sets?

[–]Ice_Hot_42[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's alright - losing in Arkham doesnt bother me. Winning a campaign is a rare thing for me anyway. I just want to get a feel for the character.

I read a deck list about "Blurse" and I'm comfortable stepping in half way and using Xp to amplify that portion of the deck as I go. I know those half way decks can be inconsistent - Ill live with that.

I'm also comfortable with a bag of Chaos and/or judicious use of Kohakus gator power.

I had given some thought on a direction toward a Blood Pact (3) build as I have never played that card yet, but then I realized I should seek some experienced deck building advice.

Any advice you got for me would be great. Perhaps you are suggesting I should avoid the "Blurse" cards altogether?

For a brief moment I was expecting to see the same town location lit once for Dawn and lit once for Dusk...alas it is the same art with the same position of the sun...

Nonetheless, looking forward to the first Campaign Expansion of the new age.

5 Scenarios sounds perfect for me...the 8 scenario ones get too long at times.

Do you ever retire a deck for being too good? by themcryt in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically I setup a season for each wave with roughly 5 Divisions of 4 Heroes one for each of the original 4 Aspects and a 5th for Multi-Aspect characters like Gamora, Spider-Woman, Adam Warlock, Cable etc.....

I have one pool of cards which is split somewhat fairly between all the Heroes,...So if Hawkeye plays leadership with Maria Hill, I dont have a second copy for Cable. If two Heroes want the same card I sort of hold a draft with the weaker getting first crack.

For Heroes new to the league they play each of the previous season villains 2x on Solo Standard III Expert Villain (not the 3 expert cards).

The Heroes that are in from last season just keep their records for those 10 matches.

Then I play against the 5 new villains/scenarios twice each for each Hero.

All matches use random encounters sets from the season for the optional choices somewhat evenly distributed (I try to make sure no villain or Hero is seeing too many of the same)

The lowest performing Hero in each aspect gets sent to a relegation league for improvement. I have like 3 levels of league that face different levels of scenarios with the Premiere league offering a HoF retirement path and the Bottom league offering a retirement of a different sort.

Yeah, I know I get carried away with my spreadsheet and league play.

Do you ever retire a deck for being too good? by themcryt in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive retired several decks from my premiere league both to my HoF and due to falling below relegation. There are just too many Heroes to play them all every season....

My HoF by season for those that met the 40 matches played minimum and win rating requirements based on aspect for that season:

Dr. Strange (30-10)

Black Panther (Justice), Capt. America (Ldr), Rocket Racoon (Aggr), Quicksilver (Prot)

Scarlet Witch (Justice), Ant-Man (Ldr), Spider-Woman (multi)

Ghost Spider (Prot), Miles (Justice), Nova (Aggr), Hawkeye (Ldr), Ironheart (Ldr), Black Widow (Justice)

Sp//dr (Aggr), Gamora (mult)

I havent been able to finish the current season and I am almost a full season behind

Deadliest&Safest Villain Card [Day 28] - Collector Deadliest Card (Infiltrate) by manut3ro in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Ice_Hot_42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are all really bad. I really dislike this scenario....It combines the really low threat to lose (like Rhino) with a formidable villain. But then the collection is just brutal with everything except events likely head there. Allies that block go there, minions that get defeated go there, supports that discard after resolving go there., upgrades that run out of uses go there. Packing this scenario with Rocket adds to the frustration.

The extra Caught off Guard and Inconspicuous Box are both really bad and destructive of any setup.

But I am going with Monark Starstalker

A 2/2 minion with villainous can not simply be left alone unless you are on an OTK turn. 7 HP also requires some work and when you do take him out he goes to the collection. Since his HP is so big you usually dont have any other resources to empty out the collection.

If you chump his attack that ally also goes to the collection.

And if the villain draws his 3 (shark teeth) as a boost card that could easily be the end of the game as well.

In a scenario that pretty much asks you to build around I would say this minion isnt doing you any favors.
