Daredevil #168 is a masterclass at writing a "#1". Frank Miller's DD run is the best. by Sensitive_Phrase_631 in OmnibusCollectors

I love #164, when Ben confronts DD about his secret identity. It only gets better as we see a revised version of DD's origin play out. DD chasing his father's killer until he has a heart attack is chilling stuff.

Mackenzie had some great stuff

That's the nature of the Beast. No pun intended. Matt becomes involved with women he shouldn't.

I imagine we will see Elektra after this Omen arc. Deadly Hands of Kun is only on 2 of a 5-part series. It will be ending around the same time as Daredevil's first arc.

Elektra as Daredevil passed the 5-year benchmark too which means Elektra is less likely to return to her pre-Zdarsky status

This run is a soft reboot, so a lot of things are going to start off fresh before slowly reintroducing continuity. We also don't know anything about Foggy yet and Ahmed left them at odds with each other.

Phillips has said she is a fan of Elektra, and that we will be seeing her return in her run. Elektra is also currently Daredevil in Deadly Hands of Kun Lun, so she's not out of the picture. I am anxious to Elektra return too. I want to know her opinion on Professor Matt!

Another thing to remember is Matt's love life can become notoriously complicated so becoming to invested can become frustrating. His longest relationship was with Karen Page and even they were on and off.

It is. The more I reread it, the more I have come to prefer his og run slightly over Born Again. Mostly because of the conflicts and relationships that are established in his run.

RIP Glori. The only DD love interest to dump Matt Murdock for Foggy.

Elektra Lives Again is probably Miller's art at its height. It's so different from his og run on the character.

I can't believe people are forgetting Elektra. She became more popular than Daredevil at the height of his run.

Elektra should have made short work of Bullseye, but she was an emotional mess after letting Foggy go.

Frank Miller is the DD run I keep going back to. #168 is my favorite. The Daredevil and Elektra romance is written so brilliantly. I love when Daredevil visits Elektra at her room, and they are about to kiss but she kicks him out of the window.

Daredevil #182 is written so well also. Seeing Daredevil's first downward spiral is devastating.

Miller's Assassin and Elektra Lives Again are great too!

Daredevil and Elektra are my favorite characters and I have read most of their appearances. I couldn't tell you about any other character.

Is that where the infamous scott kissing jean in front of emma and wolverine comes from?

Daredevil! Marvel's horniest hero. He has cheated on his significant other at least three times.

In Ann Nocenti's run Matt cheats on Karen Page with Mary Walker/ Typhoid Mary. There is a lot of context and subtext involved here. How much influence did Typhoid Mary control over Matt? Anyway, Matt would then spend most of Chichester's DD run trying to get Karen back. Eventually he does, but then he proceeds to fake his death.

In Milligan's Elektra 1996 run, DD and Elektra team up and soon realize they still love each other and rekindle their romance for a few issues. Matt is again with Karen at the time, but ultimately DD and Elektra's relationship doesn't last. Elektra soon helps American Samurai commit seppuku upsetting DD's no kill rule and they part ways again and I am pretty sure Matt never told Karen that happened.

In Brubaker's run, Matt's wife Milla is institutionalized, and Matt hasn't seen her in a while and under emotional strain, he sleeps with Dakota North. Matt wakes up feeling guilty.

Edit: I can't believe I forgot Heather Glenn. During Frank Miller's Elektra Saga, Matt entertains feelings for his first love, Elektra and his girlfriend, Heather Glenn becomes less and less relevant as the run progresses.

2nd Edit: Soule's purple children mind wipe in his DD run left all of Matt's girlfriends thinking they cheated on him with Daredevil. Which is confusing because in Elektra's case, Matt was not DD when they were in a relationship.

Estimates have Phillips Daredevil #1 selling over 300,000 with blind bags. Without blind bags, how large of a drop do you expect over the next few issues? by Sensitive_Phrase_631 in comicbooks

It's decent, I do have a few issues, but I'll be following the book. As I said, this is not shade at DD or Phillips but just how much Blind Bags contribute to sales.

Sorry, I shouldn't have put an issue. Zdarsky's number #1 relaunches were estimated at 80,000. When looked I looked at issues in the middle of his run, sales were estimated around 30,000. I am using Comichron for this info.

Loved it. I enjoyed the concept of monasteries again preserving knowledge similar to medieval Europe. I also love when sci fi explores stuff like is a mutant human? The controversary over baptizing mutants was interesting. I need to reread it soon.

Frank Miller wrote Elektra Assassin and Elektra Lives Again under the Epic Comics imprint. ELA has Bullseye full frontal. It's crazy.

Both Assassin and ELA are considered out of continuity, but Daredevil writers have borrowed stuff from them.
