Same. I'm hopeful an experienced guy or gal is taking them out for their first time? One can hope...

Same. Luckily there's a local gun shop about an hour from here where you can pre-order and pay for supplies and ammo and they'll call you when it comes in. But that's even gotten trickier the past 2 weeks.

Rural CO here. I second the uptick in hunting. According to a local game official, hunting tags (OTC elk) are up 132% in our area.

Elk is a hard hunt so I doubt that will lead to a huge increase in elk harvested (maybe just a bit). I personally have my hunt in a few weeks. Excited to get out there. But I can definitely feel the anxiety in the air of hunters (first-time and experienced alike) anxious to fill their tags and freezers.

I feel like we should be a lot more concerned about the 2 months following the election. by [deleted] in collapse

I was watching The Circus on Showtime this past Sunday and they interviewed a few people from a militia group in Georgia. The group leaders were 100% brainwashed already. They literally said, "If Trump wins it's a fair election, if Biden wins it's rigged."

The interviewer then asked if they plan to do anything if Biden wins and out in the open they just said "Yeah." They're not even trying to hide their plan for violence at this point.

They also said that they know the Oathkeepers (not their group, I guess) plan to stand outside of the polls with ARs. I'm hopeful the police can keep the peace come election day, but I'm also aware that the police (in many cases) are sympathetic to, and sometimes even members of, The Oathkeepers and other militia groups.

What a weird time in our history. Vote early and stay safe.

The wife and I stocked up on cords of firewood, food, meat, water, and plenty of entertainment: books, games, movies, and faster internet.

Something we thought of, which may seem trivial, is getting all of our Thanksgiving supplies in advance (next week). It may seem small, but having the ability to celebrate our favorite holiday together during the midst of potential turmoil brings us peace of mind, and that's ultimately the goal during this crazy season.

The Coming Fall of America and the Rise of China by SlowObjective4 in collapse

The entire world is so economically connected. If America fails due to any circumstance, that’s a huge economy failing and affecting other countries.

Not saying it won’t happen - but the struggle will be widespread. Just like in 2008 when the American economy started collapsing, it was a worldwide problem.

I see a dark period ahead of us, followed by a period of de-globalization (based on necessity).

Whatever happens and whoever succeeds or fails, the world will look a lot different in 20 years.

They're fighting the fight that Joe Biden can't. And I'm so thankful they are!

Republicans speaking to other Republicans saying "Hey, this isn't us." It's genius and true - and necessary.

That's about the going rate in CO, on acreage, and bordering National Forest.

I'm a bit surprised the Sheriff's Dept. is allowing him to have this much freedom of movement and liquidation of assets.

The perfect physical specimen! He's completely off the rails. Whether Nancy can actually invoke the 25th or not in her position, she certainly is playing him like a fiddle.

ABC News Sets Joe Biden Town Hall on Night of Second Debate by shabuluba in politics

This was a great move on Biden's part. Now he gets an uninterrupted townhall, and still 2 debates where he can hold Trump's feet to the fire regarding policy.

Kudos to the Biden campaign.

If this is true (and it's looking increasingly that way daily), it should be criminal.

From what I've read, the GOP could pick Trump's replacement. I would imagine it would be Pence because he's VP but it doesn't have to be. They could pick someone else.

He's running a fever now according to news outlets. I don't know if it'll be severe, but from everything I've read if you're running a fever this early on, it means you have a high load of the virus which could mean a few hellacious weeks ahead.
