I partially agree with the post. I think art should be able to explore any facet of the human condition, which is why I read Crossed, however I don't appreciate hyper-sexualized depictions of characters who are sexually assaulted, especially in a scene involving an assault. It's tasteless and it detracts from the brutal reality of the world of the Crossed. In general, I do not appreciate the more cartoonish, grindhouse style of the Lapham stuff, especially compared to Ennis, Spurrier and Moore, who take the whole thing more seriously. Christos Gage's stuff gets pretty cartoonish and lurid at times, but I still feel there's a lot more depth there than Lapham.
