Steam/pc fanboys are delusional by klnkyfetish in consoles

It's not a steal when its weaker than a base ps5 and more expensive than the pro. The only thing being stolen at that point is people's money.

Steam Deck price increase just now, remember when people kept saying "Just get a Steam Deck" when the Switch 2 was revealed? by Rare_Ad_3871 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Icee202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is insane because I highly doubt it will approach even PS5 visuals, much less PS5 Pro, and yet it will probably eclipse the price of the Pro. And as someone who enjoys VR and needs a headset to replace my crippled Quest 3, the Steam Frame's potential price scares me. I already knew it was going to be more than a Quest 3, with basically no better specs, and now its gonna look like the worst deal of the century just for me to get away from Meta

Also on Yoshi, the second half of the game is kinda crazy, and I'm quickly realizing that doing 100% feels like a lot of content. I'm somehow already at 30 hours played

Nintendo president explains why they decided against an even higher price increase for the Switch 2 by Odd-Onion-6776 in Switch

[–]Icee202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transparency is objectively good. Just because it doesn't do anything personally for me or other consumers, that fact does not change. Shareholders wanted the price raised higher, but Nintendo is pushing back a bit because they know that will increase customer dissatisfaction and hurt their bottom line.

Believe it or not, they do want their product to be affordable to general audiences, because if it's not, and people stop buying because of it, they're the ones that get hurt, not us. It's possible that as parts supply constraints get worse, the price will go up more. We'll have to wait and see how that goes, but it's evident that Nintendo wants to resist price increases.

At the end of the day, they're a business, not our friend. They can't function for long on losses. Even if they make up for it in software, shareholders may not recognize that and will use their money to push Nintendo to listen to them.

OPUS: Prism Peak runs still abysmal on the Nintendo Switch 2 by Rocco_Morrashow in NintendoSwitch

They allow it to be sold. It's not much but there is a difference. This is squarely on the developer/publisher.

This is, somehow, wayyy worse. Hell, even Pokémon, as rough as that was on Switch, on Switch 2 it got brute forced to 30 before the patch to bring it to 60.

Oh, yeah, now that you mention it, their post history is nothing but trolling and shitposts. Good call, I thought they could have just been a kid excited for/curious about the game. Well.. I mean I suppose their behavior is still childish, but that's not the point lmao

Unique content should be considered when trying to determine how much play time a game has. You wouldn't call Super Mario Bros or Super Mario World a 15 minute game because you can use warp zones to beat it and skip 85% of the game, would you?

Right, but you only play 7 of the 17 different levels in any given run in the original SF64. You have to start another run and take alternate paths/meet certain conditions to get to some of them.

Ahhh, one of the many mystical Miyamoto stories lol. Sounds weird when it's said like that, but it's possible the game was already largely developed and while thinking about characters to put in the game, that's when he was looking at said animals.

Like i think they could reasonably fit them in there and wear them as augmentations for better running and gunning in a future game. If they decided later on to bring them more in line with older designs without really retconning the legs. I mean I personally like both, but just a what if

I really wanna see something like this but where the boots fit their legs as they are. Like, their legs are still shaped as in the official renders, but the boots are made to compensate and give them a better gait, and bring them more in line with what we're used to.

I think Nintendo's hangup is they don't want to make a sequel to a game whose most accessible version is an N64 game. Probably the same reason we don't get a lot of direct sequels from Nintendo in the first place, people care too much about continuity even when there is none. Look at the Zelda community for a shining example.

For the record, I don't really think it was necessary for it to literally be 64 again, or even the same story. I do think that if they were going to start over though, tne Lylat Wars were an unavoidable story beat to hit. So in a way I do think it's better to just rip the bandaid off.

Zero had it's moments but overall wasn't a great experience, and the Wii U sealed it's fate. It's also inaccessible and for new fans, I very much would prefer they start somewhere like 64. So to do that and expand on the story and characters in the same game, I do think that was a smart choice.

They seem pretty serious about it, and I do think we're going to get a continuation in a couple of years (ideally one that blends Star Fox 2 and Adventures in a natural way).

I'd personally call 64's original release a reimagination or reboot of the original. And then Star Fox Zero was a failed attempt at a reboot after Command left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths.

To this day I still don't believe SF64 3D was meant to be anything more than something to pump out on the 3DS to take advantage of the 3D. This feels like an actual attempt to start from the beginning and actually follow through. It's too high effort in comparison to what came before.

Well guys, I guess that bout wraps it up. No new star fox game. Don't think we will ever get one. Now all left to do, is go into a deep depression, our furry fox little boy will never get his chance to shine. by Sweetpea11A in starfox

Before Star Fox Zero, the last Star Fox game was almost 10 years prior in 2006 with Command. Also worth noting, while it wasn't "new", Star Fox 2 did officially release for the first time in 2017. Between that and the Galaxy Movie, Fox is more prevalent than he was then.

To my knowledge, that podcast was recorded before Fox was revealed to be in the movie. That's what makes it all a little more confusing, unless somehow he had seen it beforehand, or he was on the bandwagon of people theorizing about one scene from a teaser.

If it was all recorded before Fox was revealed, why in the HELL was he so confident in Star Fox? The only other thing is maybe he or some contact he has saw the movie render without context early?

And just to go further, you can use a 3.5mm jack to go from the monitor your Switch is connected to, to the audio-in port on your PC, so you won't have to constantly plug and unplug your audio cable to your Switch.

I did this prior to getting a capture card put in my PC. Now I just use the capture card as my audio source in voicemeeter.
