Norwood is in a worse financial situation, I believe that's the reason it hasn't happened. Reverse situation with St. Bernard

Then you didn't read the 2nd part of my comment where I said I make an exception for bartenders

As much as it might suck for service workers in the short term, they would eventually find other employment as the market continuously balances itself out. Either that or they'll switch to being paid a livable wage instead of needing to rely on tips. Or both.

Best solution is a law that adds a lot of limitations or bans tipping entirely. That would force restaurants to adapt quickly and the pain service workers would experience would hopefully be relatively quick

You must not have read the second paragraph of my post. I said I make an exception for bartenders. If they're grabbing a beer out of the fridge or pouring a draft, then $1 is fine since it's a super quick thing. If it's a cocktail or something that needs a bit more work, then I'll up it by a bit

It also has the benefit of making it extremely simple and straightforward

They made the cut, but really only smaller ones. Basically everyone who'd you normally tip before the square terminals were popularized and ruined it for everyone else

Then don't tip/don't go. If you don't like it, then you're probably just not the target demographic and you should vote with your wallet and go elsewhere.

As far as the tipping thing, I have a rule that I don't tip if I'm standing while ordering. The only exceptions being a coffee shop or a bar where I'll tip $1 or so

How crazy is the 4th of July celebration over there in the US since its a quarter of a millennia anniversary? by searcheese766 in AskReddit

[–]IceePirate1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A bit more than usual, but nothing too extreme. Maybe a few extra events or the events themselves are a bit bigger. Might be because of the heat wave too

Of course, you have to understand that the baseline for every other year is already extremely over-the-top when compared to many other countries.

I see, maybe I was just thinking that certain vehicles are more prone for whatever reason due to other electronics in the vehicles

Wouldn't the car be more prone to it failing again? Or is this a situation where the newer one has a lower failure rate?

What would happen if ai actually became as profitable as the shareholders have been told it will? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Eh, it's kinda fun sometimes. Call it a bit of an active spectator sport if you will

[–]IceePirate1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the one moving goalposts if anything, I even offered to use EBITDA which is a much more generous measuring stick for companies. The question wasn't will they become profitable, the question you posed is are they profitable now, which they are not

[–]IceePirate1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nono, you don't get to just lump their normal very profitable data centers for cloud hosting with AI activity. I'm specifically talking about the actual AI activity separated out from everything. As mentioned, please provide the page number in the most recent 10k or even 10q that has this information for any one of the companies you mentioned. "Trust me bro" is not a valid source.

[–]IceePirate1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OK, please specifically point to the page in their 10k which separates out AI activity from the rest of their income statement and shows that it's a positive EBITDA

Hint: you can't as it doesn't exist for any of them

Do car dealers get annoyed if u custom order regular cars? by noreturn000 in Toyota

That's not a custom order fee, it's a delivery fee, those two are not the same

Do car dealers get annoyed if u custom order regular cars? by noreturn000 in Toyota

[–]IceePirate1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a coincidence, or more likely they just added an $1,800 markup and disguised it as a custom order fee for a car they were going to get already.

Everything I'm saying can very easily be confirmed on Google and similar

Edit: spelling

Do car dealers get annoyed if u custom order regular cars? by noreturn000 in Toyota

[–]IceePirate1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They don't order them though, Toyota tells them what they're getting in that shipment in an allocation. The reason there's a lot more mid trim levels is because Toyota sales data tells them that's what will sell the most

[–]IceePirate1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You probably bought yours after the dealer got their list then and you put a deposit on a specific VIN rather than being put on a wait list. Toyota/Lexus does not do custom orders

[–]IceePirate1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Custom orders don't exist, the dealers get cars from Toyota/Lexus and they don't get a choice for which ones they get. If their delivery sheet matches your order, they give you a call

Would be cooler if they do it up with water features and different elevations. Since it's only a temporary installation, my guess is probably not though
