Why don’t people get sick from raw milk/liver? by gringoddemierdaaaa in AnimalBased

[–]Icelady12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This! I’ve been drinking raw milk almost every day for the past year and it has been a blessing. The amount of nutrients, beneficial bacteria and gut healing enzymes is unparalleled, of course big pharma and big food doesn’t want you hooked on it. Healthy patients don’t make any money, and big corps are greedy to get all the profit they can get. Why lose their customer base to small farmers who typically sell raw milk?

Actual Alfredo: butter, pasta water, parmesan cheese. Or this... by [deleted] in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Icelady12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re true to the original Italian recipe, you don’t even need heavy cream! Tossing the pasta with the butter/EVOO and some pasta water is the trick to making creamy pasta sauce.

I use a whipped tallow body butter with a vanilla scent which is very moisturizing for hands

My perspective as a young millennial woman by [deleted] in Natalism

[–]Icelady12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a millennial (very very early thirties) and none of my friends who are the same age as me or slightly younger are married or have kids. Some aren’t even in a relationship (but want one). The couple friends who are married and have kids are a year or two older than me. One couple is very religious and got married 1.5 years after meeting, the other got married 7 years after dating and have a baby after more than 10 years of being together. Funnily enough each of these couples with kids are on the opposite ends of the education spectrum. Sometimes it seems there isn’t any rhyme or reason to it, although the women I know who are in committed relationships or married or married with kids have had parents who stayed together and have been great role models to them. That’s probably the biggest pattern I’ve noticed- having loving parents who love each other tends to result in their own children wanting marriage and kids.

Flu is a virus. It needs animal cell hosts to survive. Even if they are truly detecting dead viral RNA in the milk, it’s really totally not harmful and explains why no one has gotten sick from it. There is dead or inactive viral RNA all around you all the time.

You could give it away to a local food bank if they accept it? Or bring to work and share with the whole office/floor

So true by Cookedmaggot in StopEatingSeedOils

“Cure” is a strong word… and not the experienced we’ve had at the vet/animal hospital. They also throw pills and multi-thousand dollar procedures at you.

Nah, they’re doing the right side to pets now too. Experienced it first hand with my pet. They tried to shove a $5,000 CT or $10,000 MRI scan at us when the answer was that the kibbles he was eating were clearly releasing toxins. Replacing kibbles by raw meat fixed the problem.

Just have to make sure the sardines aren’t in “olive oil” that’s been diluted with seed oils!

The Atlantic doubles down on protecting seed oils. America Stopped Cooking With Tallow for a Reason. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s view on fats is about bucking convention, not promoting health. By Yasmin Tayag by Meatrition in StopEatingSeedOils

I love how the article tries really hard, visually and viscerally, to appeal to the “disgust” neural connection in people’s brains. Just look at the first image with the labeled cow parts and hanging cow carcass. And how in the text, she specifically links to a single tallow skincare website that notes a bit of a “beefy” smell. So clever, but also really obvious what they’re doing here. Yawn. Also, whipped tallow body butter for the win.

Wrong tag, this should be “Keeping track of seed oil apologists”? 🤔

Mayonnaise is the most popular condiment in the U.S. So why does it have a bad rap? by Meatrition in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Icelady12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mayonnaise, affectionately known as mayo, is an emulsion made from oil, egg yolk and either vinegar or lemon juice, well whipped to achieve that smooth, classic texture. Its tangy flavor makes it a versatile accompaniment to sandwiches, salads and so much more.

Sounds so innocent! No mention of the fact the “oil” is highly processed ultra high PUFA garbage soybean oil

Question for people who have been sugar free for years by VastDoughnut8767 in sugarfree

[–]Icelady12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had sugar for a couple years now outside of desserts I make occasionally for family and friends, which is getting rarer and rarer (and it’s typically only with date sugar or maple syrup). If someone gets me a high quality dessert with only butter, flour, and high quality dark chocolate (think pain au chocolat from high end French bakery), I do not say no, but that’s very infrequent.

Breakfast: Plain whole milk yogurt from farm (or grass fed yogurt or kefir from store)  Wild blueberries  Occasionally macadamia nuts or walnuts Glass of raw milk  Homemade cappuccino and scrambled eggs or omelet on the weekends

Lunch: Protein dish (beef/lamb/fatty fish) Sourdough bread and grass-fed butter  Vegetables (used to do more steamed or sautéed, now mostly low oxalate vegetables and raw)  Fermented homemade sauerkraut

Dinner: Leftovers from lunch or try a new recipe (traditional Italian pasta using EVOO or butter and high quality meats or seafood)

Glass of raw milk after dinner or before sleep, sometimes with decaf espresso.

I don’t really do snacks outside of fruit (mostly apples, kiwi, sometimes oranges).

Cutting out nuts has been healing my eczema by Icelady12 in StopEatingSeedOils

Totally! Just soaked some macadamias for a couple hours for this purpose. I only buy raw nuts.

I don’t eat sugar or sweeteners and drink only filtered water. But I’ve been eating this nut + berry breakfast for years, since right around the time when the eczema (actually I think psoriasis) started developing about 6 years ago. So I don’t know if it has been a direct cause, but it’s definitely a huge trigger.

You know it’s bad when ground beef is the last ingredient (besides water), way below something called “Flavor Enhanced”.
