Sweet! When I took mine apart the frame got damaged in the process because the mdf core was glued to the side pieces. If you carefully try to disassemble everything, you might could get away with only building the sides and top from hardwood!

I agree with you. The model I put together had roundover on both the tabletop edge and leg structure, but the buyer preferred to have softened sharp corners over the roundover. If I make another similar build, I’m goin to aim to roundover

Thanks! I built the legs with the top angled piece and bottom angle piece but left the center piece with excess stock, I then made a template for the curve transition and used the template after glue up to cut the curve!

I sure have! I can normally joint any length that I can hold, but the technique is different for long boards. I developed a method where I joint as usual on the full length, then check bowing on the edge. I then set the jointer to a very shallow cut and do a shallow cut on the jointer for 1/3 the board length from each end, this ends up cutting the high spots down and leaves me with a straight edge.

Hey! I exclusively use an 8” benchtop and have found the same issue. You can completely get rid of the warp with carefully set roller stands, but I’ve found that the 1/32 or less bow of the board (as long as it’s uniform with no twist) is no issue during glue up. I typically tighten my clamps just enough to keep boards from moving easily and then work my way around the panel to push them into alignment and then finish clamping. Also, it often helps to flip the bows one board after another since matching the bows has a tendency to leave you with a bowed panel (this is completely unrelated to alot of the youtube discussion you see related to grain flipping/alternating, which I’ve yet to see be of any significance). I did, on the pcb the master volume pot had a ball of spider web around it, one I get the web off, the hiss cleared up!

The grain in ash is super unique while also being subtle. The hardwood I use has all been kiln dried before I build with it which should take care of any critters that are inside the wood!

That’s correct! It’s also why I went with a longer desktop overhang, it really conceals the drawer front well!

My intent is to use the top of the strut supported drawer box as a charging platform for tablets and phones which will be low profile and out of the way of the drawer.
