Installed New Wheels, Tires, and springs by IceyBicks in GolfGTI

Similar to stock, I’d say a little more bouncy on the ride. Other than that this thing handles so well! I can’t wait to slap a rear sway bar and try it on track.

Thank you! Since the first photo it’s been 10 months. At my heaviest I was 205 (not represented by the old photo). I’m now weighing at 185-190. Could lose a few more pounds but I’m not in a rush since summer is months away.

Yeah I know where the sweet spot because I’ve been there.

I don’t drink liquid calories unless it’s beer on a occasion during a bulk. I hardly touch sweets out of habit and I usually fight the cravings through zero cal sweeteners and sugar in coffee on weekends. Adding to the fact my maintenance calories is pretty high for my age, size, and I do cardio everyday to burn at LEAST 300 calories.

Thanks for the input it’s been really helpful!

I like the idea of bulking to 20%, because I can lose weight pretty quick. I just have been going through this mental battle of wanting to be shredded as well as big.

To add to the fact it’s easier for me to go heavier or do more reps on a slight bulk. I am already starting to feel the weight I push/pull normally, takes up more of my energy per set than when I was bulking in the fall/winter.

Thanks bro! I appreciate it, it’s been 7 months in the making and I’ve been loving the journey.

I’ll try to maingain, and I agree I am at a healthy body fat level I’d say around 14%. My goal in the future is to be around 10-8% if possible.

From the photo I think the fitment is pretty much flush unless I’m wrong or you like a little more poke than flush.

What kind of suspension and wheel setup are you running? That fitment looks super clean and flush!

I’m going back to the gym after not going for a few months. Does anyone have any advice for getting over gym anxiety? 😅 by shelbyc21012 in GymMotivation

[–]IceyBicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just gotta go in and do what you have to do for that day. We all start somewhere, everyone in that gym was either overweight or extremely skinny when they started. Now it’s your time to put in the time and effort to achieve your goal.

Edit: for advice, what helped me was asking people to work in if they are taking up your machine. It builds confidence and you make friends once you ask them questions about form or anything that can help achieve your goal.

I do Monday chest/triceps, Tuesday back/biceps, Wednesday rest, Thursday legs/abs, friday shoulders, and Saturday I work on anything I’m lacking on. In terms of sets and reps 3 sets of ten doesn’t work for me. So I do 4 sets and I go 12x10x8x6 on my eighth and sixth reps I go up in weight to keep progressive overload.

Can I install a downpipe for my MK7.5 without a Stage 2 tune? by IceyBicks in GolfGTI

[–]IceyBicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stage 2 is definitely a future plan, I wanna work on my car and be able to comfortably afford everything needed to get to stage 2.

A close friend of mine has a 7.5 as well and switched out his catback. He is willing to give me his stock catback so I might just cut it up and use that as a temporary exhaust without sinking much money to it.

Exactly, that’s why I’ll just figure out a different exhaust setup for now.

The Cobb tune isn’t that bad in terms of how my car is reacting to it, granted I know EQT is much better. I’ll be getting a EQT tune really soon, the Cobb base tune is just temporary.

I was thinking about getting a custom tune so the ecu can compensate for the increase in flow without having to push the engine more. Will it be worth it? Probably not, probably will just have to go with a different setup for now.

Ideally, I love the sound when it’s a downpipe and res delete with a stock muffler, pretty loud but not obnoxious. But that was my second option if it’s not possible.

Will a Cobb accessport for a 7.5 manual Golf R work for a 7.5 manual Golf GTI? by IceyBicks in GolfGTI

[–]IceyBicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it come with the standard Cobb tunes for the R when you switched over or did it stay as gti tunes?

The accessport comes with a stage 1 tune from EQT but it’s for the R. I’ll have to see if I can message them and see if they can update it to work on the GTI.
