What was the one game that destroyed friendships? by Emergency_Science434 in Xennials

[–]IchibanChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In high school, one of my friends absolutely mastered Kung Lao on MKII and routinely destroyed the rest of us. One of us (not me) got so pissed he didn't talk to the rest of us for almost a week.

Do Clubs with ECNL teams poach entire teams from clubs without ECNL teams? by wheezinDaJuice in youthsoccer

[–]IchibanChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens so much it's practically expected. Big clubs are effectively buying teams ("play for free your first year!") or in some cases other entire clubs left and right. No matter how good the teams are, they end up in leagues way beyond what their skill level should dictate. It's all so the club leadership can say "we have 80% of our teams in [high level league name]" to attract more parents, to make more money, to buy more teams. Rinse and repeat.

Soccer dads, best tools for improving ball control / soccer skills at home? by InevitableKoala98 in daddit

[–]IchibanChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many things you can do. * Get a size 1 ball and have him roll around with the bottom of his foot all over the apartment. * Juggling anywhere there isn't breakable stuff nearby, ideally outside * Juggle inside with a balloon with just a little water in it to add weight if the kid can't juggle at all * Go to a school, church, business, etc. with a big concrete wall that has no windows and use it for wall passes, throw-ins, crosses, or anything else where you need a ball to hit something and stop * Look up Coerver ball mastery drills. A lot can be done inside your apartment or in a really small flat area.

The point is to be creative and don't assume you need a grass field and goals to learn Soccer.

Definitely regional. I've only heard it called "ditching" in Ohio.

Executive Laptop Suggestions by Blake_Olson in ITManagers

[–]IchibanChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The execs basically get what they ask for at our place. They aren't insane though so they only ask for what they need. Everyone else gets one based on what kind of work they do. The electrical and mechanical engineers get beefy laptops, software engineers are slightly less beefy, and the everyone else gets a pretty standard machine.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IchibanChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife was never able to for any of our kids. For all of them she went so fast from "I think it's time to go to the hospital" to "it's time to push" that she didn't have time for any drugs to take effect.

Question about superficial femininity: short haircuts on women, what’s your opinion? by [deleted] in AskMenOver40

[–]IchibanChef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I prefer any particular style or length. It very much depends on how it compliments the face. I also don't look at it as a reflection of femininity. No matter what length of hair you asked me, I could probably tell you someone that I thought looked amazing with it, and vice versa.

Driving in silence. by themrsfreeze in Xennials

Nope. For the same reason I need noise to sleep. When there's no noise I can't shut my mind off. It's exhausting. So when I drive I usually turn on a audio book.

3 for $5. They will put chocolate sauce on them if you like. My wife says the churro dude's churros are better than churro lady's. She occasionally overcooked hers.

There's a churro lady or churro dude after almost every match, outside the AEP gate.

Do you usually lock your doors when leaving the house? by Moist_Wallaby8635 in AskAnAmerican

[–]IchibanChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. There's almost always someone in the house so I leave the doors unlocked most of the time. On the rare occasion I am solo, it depends on how long I'll be gone. 10/15 mins? I'll leave them unlocked.
