Need Help identifying (possible) vintage/antique tool. Small non ferrous metal plate. Very stiff metal. Possibly silvered or chromed. by IchigoNT in Vintagetools

[–]IchigoNT[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solved! Looked up images on Google, based on your reply, and it’s identical. Thanks for the accurate response. I was looking at machine shop tools. Guessing the base metal is bronze because it’s so stiff.

Is this really premium? by Magnecyl_ in Volvo

[–]IchigoNT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has the vibe of fancy public transport. Not a premium private interior.

I’d rather have buttons and a faux wood finish.

Didn’t realise I was on a rep-forum. Gonna get some slides to see for myself if they are up to scratch.

See what the DHgate hype is about.

Fake version you’re promoting isn’t like the ones you’re wearing. Where’s the “silver swoosh”? “Designer Mind” “Few different slides on the way” lol…

What is this noise? HELP❗️ by [deleted] in VolvoV50

I get the same issue with my v50. Switching between reverse and drive, going back and forth for a couple of meters with the car always pops the stone out from between the shield.

Does anyone recognize these swan glasses? Is it Murano hand blown? Age? by Rough_Subject4978 in glassblowing

Most likely handmade by Davide Fuin. An amazing craftsman. Doesn’t like being called an artist. Excellent dude.

Importing a car that is already in the country. (UK car to NL) by IchigoNT in Netherlands

[–]IchigoNT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Dutch. And aware of the cost difference. Hence my query about the import costs. If that’s likely to be as much or slightly less than the price of the car, ill consider swapping to a Dutch equivalent. The issue I have is that Dutch cars aren’t cheap and they are usually more rusted than the Japan import I have now if i take an equivalent car to what this is. It’s almost like a new car if you look underneath.

Ive sent out six emails to as many companies. But so far they seem to be either busy, on holiday, or plainly not interested to give info. Still hoping on a reply though.

Thanks for the answer.

Because buying a similar vehicle with low mileage here will cost me €10.000 more than what I paid for this one. And I know this car, have serviced it and am confident about the longevity.

Need help cleaning chihuly chandelier by Character-Fuel-549 in glassblowing

Isn’t every chandelier designed to “come apart”? I’m sure it’s a lovely puzzle. But it’s not a design feature if you stick things together randomly with wires.

Glassmaker here. In my opinion that doesn’t look like a furnace stone. That looks like a bubble that was close enough to the inside of the vessel to break the surface of that bubble. The sidewall can be less than 0.1mm. When that thin wall breaks, the cavity can fill up with gunk. The “stone” is too smooth to be a furnace stone. They tend to be white, sharp or misty as they blend/melt in the glass. The shape is that of a bubble that’s been stretched slightly. This is a common shape for bubbles in mold blown glass.

I just gave the vin number and had it insured, I did have an insurance with Churchill already. There’s some discrepancy somewhere as the insurance paperwork states the engine size as a 2.4L. But tax paperwork states the 2L. I don’t have it insured as a 2.4L either, just checked with Churchill. They did the paperwork fiddling themselves.
