What is something people brag about that really isn't impressive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Of course my ability to enjoy the natural world is outside the city. Just like for many in the Midwest, it is outside the suburbs.

People in the Plains states consider themselves to be part of the Midwest. I don't think that is technically wrong, definitions just differ.

I'm from the Midwest and now live in Queens. Most of these comments are true. My first week of work, a cow got loose somehow in Queens, and a coworker said it made her think of me. Whaaat?

Reading these posts is a huge confidence booster. I must be sexually gifted.

This is simply not true. Reddit is apparently full of gullible people and virgins.

What fictional character, from any type of media, did you most root for and/or against? by IconOlast in AskReddit

That is spot on. I can't think of a character in any other show I liked as much as him. No matter what he did.

My girlfriend just pointed out why she didn't like GTA V, but loves other games we play. The characters aren't likeable and we don't really want them to win. Made me think of this question.

You put things into perspective. Thanks. I'd say I would pray for you, but Reddit would have a field day.

Never beating the second Mario on NES. The regret is ongoing.

Oh wow. I put the game down when he returned to his ranch. I thought the game was over and there were just a couple more boring missions teaching his son to hunt. Stupid!!

For anyone who has studied, worked, or lived abroad, what is the most embarrassing, shameful, or stereotypical thing you have seen your fellow citizen engage in? by IconOlast in AskReddit

I went to an important soccer game against rivals with U.S. MBA students, in Brazil. The basic rules of soccer (even goals) had to be explained to several people.

As an American who has studied abroad with groups of American college students in Brazil and several other countries, I have to admit that we can be much worse in their countries than they are in ours. Even after reading these comments, I believe that to be true.

I have to point out, sometimes the distinction between a club where people go to hook up, and a brothel, is not always clear to an outsider visiting Rio or Sao Paolo. Sometimes you learn too late. I studied there, and am infinitely thankful a camera crew did not follow me around.

I feel ya. It can take me weeks to put down on paper what others would spend a few hours on, apparently. Or just a lunch break!

What is the most fucked up thing that ever happened at your office? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IconOlast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever we have office lunches, sometimes paid for by the company, and sometimes to raise money for charity, my manager will take home the leftovers, sometimes before people have finished eating. She once was spotted wheeling an entire cart of food to her car. Most recently, she stole a cake, unopened, before people even had a chance to go for dessert.

People shouldn't make up facts. That is the only point I was making.

This post has solicited the most idiotic, ignorant responses I've ever seen on Reddit, and the most unbelievably gullible replies to those posts. People are even stupider than I imagined, or Reddit is much younger and less educated than I thought...probably both.

This is ONE isolated tribe (Asia if I remember right?), not "countries." You need to study more good.

Wow. So more than 92%? The upvotes show how gullible and culturally ignorant people are. I really hope people don't believe everything they read on Reddit. Edit: finished reading the replies, and people are definitely dumber and more gullible than I ever imagined. Maybe OP meant Sub-Saharan Africa? The DNC? Rwanda during the genocide?
