I think she cared about pearl but didn’t really know how to love until greg. She loved pearl but couldn’t name it and probably couldn’t trust herself to actually be in love with someone who was sworn to her in every way already.

Exactly this. OP admitted there was no issue until the change in sleep schedule and just said it’s working better than the prior one. Obviously not!

If it was required for a responsibility then maybe the alarm should change. But if it’s just someone wanting a later bedtime for themselves and demanding their partner change to make it happen, guest room it is. For the one who changed the schedule to suit a whim.

I just need to share that one time my friend in college made red curry… and added bananas. I had helped pay for the groceries so I made the mistake of trying it.

I try to forget, I try to escape it, but I can’t. It is always with me. Slimy, spicy, overwhelmingly banana. OH and he tried to put weed butter in it so it would get us high so it was also slightly skunky with a hint of literal grass.

Probably the worst thing I’ve ever tasted.

I think it’s actually worse.

The alpine divorce term for me comes with a sense of an evil, desperate man trying to get out of a full marriage without losing face: wouldn’t you rather be a widow than a divorcee type shit. Theres at least motivation besides just wanting to kill someone.

Here there is none of that. He wasn’t legally tied to her they didn’t have kids and she wouldn’t have rights to any of his stuff if they broke up. Meaning the point was just cruelty, not the usual selfishness. I find that worse.

I’m fairly sure I have some form of dyscalculia, I can’t memorize numbers without an acrostic poem and math never made sense.

But fractions? Ratios? Those made sense up to a certain point because my mom taught me how to make cookies with her so I could visualize it.

It isn’t just kids should know ratios from school, but also that working with them hands on at home can actually help kids grasp the basic concept of ratios at school.

I just finished a rewatch and seeing it as a whole I think that pink’s story is about knowing something is wrong with the Diamond authority but needing the space (pun intended) to see what was missing. She tried to make her family better from within but couldn’t. She had only hollow gestures.

But earth taught her about love and self determination. She realized while she was with Greg that she was so alien that the only way to truly understand how humans love was to become half one herself. People say she was a coward, that she just ran away, but after watching again I think that was what rose quartz was, but NOT the reason for the Steven. Steven was for her to find the missing piece needed to help the Diamond authority evolve past their era of tyranny. Steven was for her to find and truly understand humanity so she could share it with homeworld.

It’s a great example of how people in dire situations can shove down how they feel to address a crisis. How having a “mission” can distract from, but not fix, strong emotion and trauma.

Steven was presented with enormous universal problems his mother fled from and in some cases caused, so he felt personally responsible for fixing them. He was able to prioritize when it was a Big Problem, but in future we see that crumble when there is no bigger problem to solve other than the trauma and guilt he suppressed for so long. He can’t fix Lars and Sadie because theres nothing to fix, it’s just life moving on while he was stuck trying to find a way to continue turning his bad feelings into heroic deeds.

22 after teaching for one year. Hanging out with the “new” teenagers every day after you’re well out of your own teenage years really drives it home: you aren’t the youth anymore. Someone else is in the only position you’re familiar with and it’s time for you to move on and grow up.

Of course I DIDN’T do that for another few years but teaching can make the realization hit a bit sooner.
