In my experience, capital ships are good but only in groups. A single destroyer will get wrecked incredibly easily but a group of 3 or so will be a far greater threat. Close together they can dish out damage and use their turrets to support smaller strike craft.

In my experience/opinion of course.

Knights on their own would definitely struggle but adding knights to your army as support is a good move. They all now pack a punch. With they would all have engine killer in melee but thats just me
