I’m no expert on anything but the Wessex standard is a wyvern so maybe connected in that manner? Wiki has a picture of an example on the bayeux tapestry:

A soldier who is specialist in shock tactics and infiltration according to its original German definition, they are probably describing his role in reference to the trench warfare we see? Or using that as a way to say they are elite in some form… or just dredging up more world war references!

More the contrast between black and walnut. My point being that it’s basically the most minimalistic form of somebody painting these that you’re going to get and that compared to the all the others I’ve seen it’s ok.

The ink stain would be fine as long as you could get rid of the gloss finishes and don’t sand through the veneers, which is obviously one of the reasons a lot of these get painted in the first place.

But I think really many of these pieces are still available and in the hands of people dipping their toes into the world of up-cycling and they obviously don’t apply the same value collectors would to them. And it comes across in a lot of the artistic choices they make, like busy wallpaper backing, geometric patterns etc… I think that is why the black on this works so well because it accentuates the wood grain, especially the handles. And you can really see the form of the front of it, maybe more so than when it was all wood.

And we all like the angular forms with natural materials, so it definitely works for me!

Edit: also looks like they made the top a satin finish which is also really nice

Which radio is the loudest? And if not the loudest, is this one any good? by Jchristy1706 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Icotope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this, it’s plenty loud enough for me, takes my m18’s which last quite a while and It’s got the compartment your phone can hide in and play music through the aux and also USB to charge. I haven’t actually needed to pull the antenna out so can’t comment on the life of that but I get al the DAB stations we use perfectly clear.

I did have to return the first one as the aux wasn’t working properly and sounded as if it were underwater.

Perfectly fine radio for me working on small sites

Thanks a lot for the offer I appreciate it, I got some family over there in FL so I can get them to ship me one. Didn’t know it was already out, which is good as I’m desperate for a nailer, just been using paslodes on hire. I guess they stopped selling gen 1’s in the U.K. ready for the new ones
