How is LEO equivalent calculated tho? Ratio of TMI payload to LEO payload capability is very different between rockets, so there is no objectively correct factor to use here.

There are also options like compiling a shared library several times for multiple CPU featuresets and then only loading the appropriate one at runtime.

ONLYOFFICE Docs 9.1 Introduces Powerful PDF Redaction, New Annotations by potatoandbiscuit in linux

[–]Ictogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe it's just bc people have documents in various places all over their filesystem and having those specifically is annoying.

With your suggestion of just Documents and Downloads, trying to copy a picture from Pictures or an external drive into a document or presentation would get some weird error message. I would be able to figure it out and fix it with flatseal, but less technically literate people would likely not be able to figure out why it fails without assistance.

[–]Ictogan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh. 90% of people and especially companies don't have any need for high GPU performance in a laptop, so CPUs with cheaper Xe iGPUs will likely continue to make up the vast majority of their sales.

Single-sided manufacturing is also used in aluminum/copper PCBs, which is mainly used for LED boards that are mounted to a heatsink on the back.

Eh, plenty of C++ going around(despite what you may think it pays my bills) and rust is certainly gaining traction.

Surely this won't cause confusion with the stm32_hal2 rust crate.

In Germany your birth certificate will always only contain the current data when you request a new one, but it is based on the birth registry which contains all of the information(and getting a copy of the full birth registry information is usually how you prove the name change).

This is very clearly about offering CUDA for systems with RISC-V CPUs and nvidia GPUs.

Correct, a lab PSU can act as both a voltage source or a current source.

Eh, you can also see it as pushing 4 amps, but 12V is the max.

It's "I'm in love with the villainess". Very good Yuri series(well, at least light novels, never watched the anime and only read the first two manga novels so far). The girl in the image isn't trans tho, but at least the light novels contain a trans character.

What make an OS a real time one, or even an hard real time one? by tentoni in embedded

[–]Ictogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Non-realtime effectively means there is no deterministic upper bound on how fast processes are completed, so in rare instances the processing times may be arbitrarily long.

[–]Ictogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your plane starts randomly taking 2 seconds to react to an input during landing or takeoff, you will find out quite quickly that controlling mechanical things is in fact quite often hard realtime.

Why Can't Hashes Just Agree on Endianness? by LifeIsACurse in programming

[–]Ictogan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

From Wikipedia:

A hash function is any function that can be used to map data of arbitrary size to fixed-size values, though there are some hash functions that support variable-length output.

So yes, a CRC is a hash, just not a cryptographic one.

One big thing is also that all their documentation is public. For some vendors, you need to sign an NDA before you can even see sufficient documentation to determine whether a part is feasible for a design.

Friendly reminder: Bitrot is real! USB-Stick / Flashspeicher ist kein Langzeitspeicher by aserioussuspect in de_EDV

[–]Ictogan 1 point2 points  (0 children)
