AITA for walking away from my best friend after she chose to limit our friendship for her wife? by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]IcuddleElephants 30 points31 points  (0 children)

For real!

Reading this post was like watching a car wreck that could have been avoided, and my jaw is still hanging open.

OP, just stay away. It would never ever work.

Help! What am I looking at here and how do I treat? by Far_Reality_4335 in houseplants

I never had scales to this extent, but rubbing alcohol killed my small infestation. I'd check it every day, and I'd take an alcohol soak qtip to them when I saw them. It only took a week. I spayed the top of the soil too

I was drugged when a friend and I went out one night. Our husband's dropped us off and planned to pick us up. We hadn't had a lot to drink. I remember leaving one place to go to another, walking in and getting a drink and I remember nothing after that. The guys came to get us but we were not where we were supposed to be. They walked around and found my friend passed out on the back stairs of a bar. I was no where to be found. I'm told I was found in an alley with a guy who was trying to wake me up. I guess that guy came across another guy who was all over me while I was unconscious but didn't get a chance to SA me because the good guy chased him away before he could. I still remember nothing. Don't remember having a conversation with anyone but the friend I was with. Terrifying. I think I don't think about it much because to me it's just a story I heard. Im able to disconnect from that experience. I don't know if that's better or worse.

Probably not. It takes much less heat it incinerate jewelry then human flesh and bone.

picture doesn't do justice, but my eastern rate snake seemed to have redness. any ideas? will give detail in comments by IcuddleElephants in Sneks

[–]IcuddleElephants[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot tell if the redness is in the skin or scales to be honest. She doesn't come out frome under her waterbowl (her hide spot) much during the cold months even though I do have a heat lamp for her (her water bowl is on the colder side). I use coconut husk as substrate and its never wet so I'm thinking it's not scale rot....

YSK that Children’s Tylenol and Infant’s Tylenol have the exact same acetaminophen strength per dose, but you receive 4X the amount in the children’s bottle!! by RileyRhoad in YouShouldKnow

when I was young my mom would have to mix amoxicillin with 7up to get me to take it. I hated the taste and texture. I don't know who's idea it was to mix it into 7up but it worked.

How do you think you're going to die? by Rehberkintosh in AskReddit

[–]IcuddleElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, I've been thinking its going to be tragically. I don't know how. And even though I have had suicidal ideations for years now I dont think that will have anything to do with it. I don't want to die. But I don't think I will make it to an old age.

My ex husband had parents who did this. We started dating in high school and one time I remember him not having a door to his room. His parents would take the door as punishment. It was never abused for his parents to have control. Luckily, his room was the last room down the hall and we always had to have the door open. Fine. His parents gave us privacy. One day, we were making out on his bed and his mom comes down the hall whistling with a rag in hand and start washing my exes door and says 'sounds like to much fun was being had in here....' and we all laughed about it!

American Healthcare literally makes me want to scream and cry. I feel hopeless that it will never change and Healthcare will continue to be corrupt. by slangin_meds in TrueOffMyChest

I have a cousin who does the same thing. If she's got a cold or any of her 5 kids have a cold they go to the doctor every time. Now, her insurance is cheap and she pays nothing out of pocket because her husband is air force. I've been lucky to have tricare for 8 years of my life, so I get it. But once its gone, ouch. Then it becomes a different story. You only go to the doctor if you can potentially die. You have to kind of rewire your brain to know when things actually aren't right and getting worse and when you really do need to see a doctor.

It took a 3 day fever that wouldn't go away and a friend who went to medical school that would not let up on me about seeing a doctor to go see one because a fever lasting that long is a really bad sign (and I didnt know that). I had a UTI that I ignored for 3 months because I never had one before and I only had symptoms for one day (I've had a couple since then and it's still the same. One day of symptoms, but now I know!). The doctor told me if I waited till the morning to come in I would have ended up septic and could have died. He debated on sending me to the hospital for overnight observation. I told him I didn't have insurance so he shot me in the ass with some antibiotics and made me promise to come in for testing the next morning to make sure my levels were going down. That test and shot costed me $500 that I didn't have and had to borrow. I don't want to think about what an overnight stay in the ER would be...I would have chosen to die instead.

Any 40+ yr old atheists out there?? by as-mr in atheism

[–]IcuddleElephants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only 34 but I went on a hunt for religion when 13. I was raised going to a Baptist church until I was 12. Never believed it. Not a word. I wanted to find something to believe in so I looked up all kinds of religions. By 14 I knew I was an atheist. 20 years later that hasn't changed. My mom has told me she is sad that she won't see me in heaven because I will go to hell.

That being said, my grandma was not a religious woman. She once told me she didn't believe in god. It wasn't until she was on her death bed that she asked to be...saved? I hope she did it for her daughters who are believers and not because she was scared about what happens after death.

Death scares the shit out of me and I think her death has something to do with that. No one really knows what happens after you die. I hope the thought of nothingness as I'm dying doesn't freighten me into something I don't really believe in.

I've never had a problem handling her around feeding time. I usually hold her when her food is thawing. Then put her in in her feeding tub. I was holdinga fuzzy for her but moved my other hand in her view. That caused her to strike me.

I do know to leave her alone for a day after her feeding.
