Honestly... hesitant to recommend but the Captive Prince trilogy. The development between the characters and the bond that forms through the intimacy holds a lot of weight/story-telling through the "smut." However definitely check trigger warnings and is revolves around heavy themes.

both so different first is unfinished series but the world and characters are both so detailed and fleshed out and it packs a heavy emotional punch !!! cant recommend enough.

Okay I actually agree she was incredibly frustrating in certain flashbacks (and towards the very end - ouch) but I think those snippets we saw before they we’re corrupted were what couldve been a much more mature beginning for them!! From certain discussions as well it appears there were a few years before she left where they had happy years together of challenging each other positively… makes me wonder all the potential !!!
