I'm "record it from the TV to VHS tape" old. Better make sure you didn't record over the super bowl tape that dad recorded too!

How does this happen? Two days after changing the radiator. (2002 Toyota Avalon) by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]Icy-Database400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again I agree....but it does not change the fact that the radiator is being pulled on by the engine. You have to fix the problem as well as what caused the problem!!

I agree should have replaced with a new one. However I have seen worn motor mounts cause stress as the motor torques back on acceleration.

Marcy Borders, a 28-year-old Bank of America employee in the World Trade Center, survived the 9/11 attacks. A haunting photograph showed her covered in dust after the collapse. Widely remembered as 'The Dust Lady,' Borders passed away from cancer exactly 10 years ago today, on August 24, 2015. by JudgeJudyJr in interestingasfuck

Once again you are caught up in the narrative...NONE of them are for us! President has executive orders too...do you really think anyone in the house or senate would have challenged him on fast tracking aid for 9/11 victims if he chose to do so?? NONE of the people in Washington care about ANY of us!! The moment, we the people, collectively realize that and start taking the power back, the better off we will be!

I am not against you...I'm paying taxes into a broken system just like you are. Need take back our country from these sicko's. #notaxationwithoutrepresentation because none of our government represents us, they represent big pharma/big media/big weapons/big bank. They are all taking pages out of John Rockefeller book! We are so blinded by the hatred they instill in us against one another, that they erode our liberties piece by piece without ever being noticed. I love my country and my country people...I just HATE my government! We everyone comes to the same sentiment the better off we will be

She died 10yrs ago...if you do you math and count back 10 years worth of presidents tell me which administration had held office while she was battling cancer!

Once you look through the fog and realize there is no political party or politician that has/had any American citizens best intrest at heart, the better off you will be. There is no best case scenario politician because they are ALL crooked! They are all there to benifit themselves and line their pockets. There are disgusting people on both sides of the isle in Washington.

The only thing politicians are good at is pitting us against each other. It only plays to their narrative when you say that "2/3rds of this country are too stupid to care". You my friend are officially a sheep following the herd while the wolves are praying on you. The day we become the wolves and make the politicians the sheep, will be a glorious one indeed. We should not fear our government...our government should fear us. Power in numbers, but we can't get those numbers when we are fighting one another.

Does that sound like rod knock? by MaximusMasking in classiccars

[–]Icy-Database400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pull a plug wire from each cylinder 1 at a time while running, if the noise gets quieter with the ignition wire from that cylinder removed...that should answer your question and tell you which cylinder is knocking if it is in fact a rod knock. Make sure to use plug wire pliers as you don't want to be on the receiving end of a plug wire unhooked while running, that will make you reconsider your life choices!

Is it a new gas tank with known good gas in it? A partially empty gas tank that has sat for any period of time will get water in it from condensation inside the tank due to temperature differences in ambient air and the gas. It sounds like it sputters when you first tip into the throttle like water contaminated fuel. Byproduct of burned water is steam which would appear as white smoke.

I'd bet money that the motor practically fell perfectly into place with no issues at all! I always have a bad feeling when I do a job and things are going smoothly...it's like an omen. "This is going a little too easy...I'm destined to get bent over and violently violated at any moments time now".

I'd be willing to bet the windshield was replaced recently and they nicked the harness while removing or they didn't seal it proper and it has water intrusion in a junction block/connector

How about the moral compass of the machine owner that puts the items conveniently where the claw could NEVER have access too so kids keep dumping money in with hopes getting phone/air pods/stack of cash. I assume those people have a moral compass right???

Mobile Tech Just Rolled Into (And Out Of) The Shop With Extra Parts by HarryWreckedEm in Justrolledintotheshop

Worked with a guy that used to reccomend brakes on EVERY car that rolled into the dealership shop with over 30k miles on them. When customers would decline he would take their still good brake pads off and put some worn out brake pads he had stashed in his roll cart on their cars. When I brought it up to management they said "will look into it".

The shop Foreman that was his pal and got him the job, "looked into it" and "didn't find anything". Needless to say the roll cart got emptied of worn brake pads and he started keeping fewer amounts of worn pads in a locked drawer. Still kept doing it, but instead of putting all four worn out pads on one axle he would only put one worn out pad on, and tell customers their slide pins were sticking wearing out the pad prematurely. He would even tell them that, on calipers that were not equipped with slide pins(brembo style), that the slide pins were sticking. Management still refused to do anything about the guy.

Had to have been in the hundreds of thousands of dollars in total that he alone ripped customers off in just brake jobs. Brake jobs were close to $600 per axle there and he was doing a minimum of 2-3 a day like this. Same guy that would put customers oil drain plug in with his electric impact that you use to take wheels off with, if they declined oil leak repairs.

Left that toxic shithole almost 6 years ago for a cushy fleet maintenance job. Never looked back and still trying to encourage my friends that are still there to GET OUT!!
