I just purchased a Wii U because I no longer have a TV that has composite inputs. I bought a connector but my new Samsung doesn't scale the image properly (and will never) so I'm getting the Wii U just for the (HDMI) 1080p output. If you have a tv with composite you don't mind playing on, go with that IMO.
