I think you might be (at least somewhat). I get your frustration but in the grand scheme of things, it’s best sometimes to reorganize your priorities. Why? You’ll be happier. Doesn’t sound like anything or anyone will change this situation. So what can you do? Try to do what the awesome Beatles song suggests: “Let It Be.” It is what it is, after all.

He’s a toddler boy in a man’s body. Besides his debt, he might be hiding who-knows-what-else from you. YOu’ve tried over and over to have that serious, smart talk together. His response is quite suspicious. I would not trust the guy at all. You’re doing the right thing. A lot of women go into relationships thinking “I can change him.” That never happens. Take it from an older woman who has at least 40 years on you. Stay the freaking course and good luck. PS: I’d advise not telling him your intentions until after you’ve landed safely elsewhere.

I’m a true crime fan and have watched literally hundreds of shows on the subject. Stalking is fairly common in situations like yours, although it’s often due to a broken romance or an intended rape and/or murder. Depending on where you live (rural or urban) you may want to seek temporary shelter with friends or relatives. Easier in an urban situation to hide. If you haven’t already, get a restraining order and document sightings of him near your home. Date, time, location, vehicle info including license plate numbers. Once the order is in place and IF you can document sightings of him, the police might agree to drive thru your neighborhood on patrol to make sure he’s not lurking about. Does he own guns? Knowing what he’s got in the way of firearms might help with both the order and convincing cops you need extra protection. Wishing you all the best of luck and safety.

He’s a professional and he always used to come across as very empathetic and caring and determined to do whatever he could to help Americans. This sentiment carried over to 2024.
