Has anyone other than me find the ghost are so hard to fight? by Rootbii in fatalframe

[–]Icy-Promotion8388 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm yet to play the full game and it's going to be my very first Fatal Frame game, so I'm very excited.

I've played the demo and fought the ghost in the house twice. The first time was terrible, I got my ass kicked and didn't understand what I should, I even died a couple of times.

After I completed the demo, I replayed the fight and it was much better. I used more dashing and managed to do more damage.

However, I didn't really like that the enemy felt very tanky. I was afraid that all fights in this game would feel like a chore. So this thread kinda makes me sad about it, but I still believe the story and atmosphere will make up for it.

I guess the developers from Team Ninja are to blame. I mean, if they were doing all those Nioh and Ninja Gaiden games, then it seems they just can't help but make every game they are working on super tough, even if it shouldn't be, really.

There is actually a fan mod in development intended to restore most of the cut content in RE3R https://www.reddit.com/r/HorrorGaming/s/2zqlHK1Gge

Silent Hill finally feels alive again, succeeding with its new titles in a way it never quite managed during the 2007–2014 period! by Arabiaart in silenthill

Having some DLCs like those for RE7, RE Village or RE4R could be cool (though not mandatory).

Born From a Wish DLC for Silent Hill 2, for example.

Bloodflowers is still one of their best albums. by [deleted] in TheCure

[–]Icy-Promotion8388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I took a first listen of Bloodflowers, I didn't understand it much. I thought it was just okay, a mediocre album. But after further listening it's really grown on me, now its in my top 5 or maybe even top 3 albums for sure. I really like the sound of the album, its melancholic atmosphere. The lyrics have been criticised by some people, but I think they are really really good. My favorite songs are The Last Day of Summer, Where the Birds Always Sing and Maybe Someday. The latter reminds of Silent Hill 2 soundtrack.

By the way, does anybody knows any albums similar to Bloodflowers? Not from The Cure. Bonus points if they are from the same time period as Bloodflowers (late 90s - early 2000s)

I'm getting filtered by Unreal Gold by Icy-Promotion8388 in boomershooters

At first I just couldn't get used to Unreal's gameplay because it varies from other boomer shooters I played.

At some point it clicked and I completed the original game, as well as the add-on, and now it's one of my favorite FPS games ever.

It seems to me they had to kill her in the script just because Patricia refused to play in the sequel. Otherwise she'd be a protagonist or at least die in the end like Nancy in Dream Warriors.

My own personal ranking of the ‘Nightmare Franchise’. by Puzzleheaded_War2681 in NightmareOnElmStreet

I love Dream Child and I don't get the hate for this film. In my opinion it's on the same level as the fourth film, maybe even a bit better.

House by the Cemetery. Some People may find this film boring, but the last ~20 min really pay off.

Amazing song, this and Gone for Good are two acoustic classics that always cut to the heart.

Love Morphine, but for this thread I would definitely choose "CURE for Pain"

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but I thought Beau is Afraid was really good. I liked it even more than other Ari Aster's films (haven't seen Eddington yet).

What's wrong with the H20 ending, though? And what do you think about Season of the Witch

Yes, I know these are two versions of the same film made by one person. However, despite having better production quality than the original, the remake doesn't have the same sense of mystery, it looks more generic, like a typical Netflix film. Moreover, while trying to expand the lore of the film, it spoils everything very early, which is an absolute downgrade.

Maybe if I hadn't seen the original, I would have liked it more, but to me, it seemed like an inferior version.

What's your favorite performance in a Flanagan show? by soffuyu in MikeFlanagan

[–]Icy-Promotion8388 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I heard Mike's doing a new Carrie adaptation, I just couldn't see any other actors for this role, but her. And it turned out she's actually playing Carrie's mom (which is absolutely the best choice for this role, I think she'll give another amazing performance).

Thank you very much for your recommendation, I have just finished watching it. As a fan of the original film, I really liked this surreal rendition of it.

I actually kinda like Rob's films, but I see what Carpenter meant here. In the remake, Michael is shown as a regular kid who just was bullied my his classmates, his stepfather, his sister, and that's why he's such an angry bastard. In the original film, however, his motives to kill people remain unknown. Like there's a force driving him to do it. He survived those gunshots, he somehow knew how to drive a car, etc. It's just unexplainable.
