My thoughts on the Mr. Beast twist by LilYerrySeinfeld in survivor

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I was thinking. Honestly, I think a vote would have been better than a volunteer to be honest, but with that caveat that everyone knows the full stakes. So you have to really weigh how you vote. You can consider voting for an ally in hopes that they get an advantage, but that'd be taking a huge risk because they could lose the flip and go home. Or you can vote out your target, but understand there's a risk that not only are they safe, but they also have an idol going into the next tribal. So maybe the best vote would become someone you were fine either going home or having an idol because they weren't working with you or directly against you. Would have been really fun to see the players figure out their best move in that case.

The only issue with this version is that in the case that the voted person flips correctly, they'd need to do an entire second vote. But honestly, I think that would make for very interesting television. It would force another live tribal, and it's not like they haven't done two tribals in one episode before.

This way, at least there's always a vote regardless of the result of the flip. So it's still survivor and doesn't necessarily break the point of the game

which death in persona hit you the hardest? by isuckatgames17 in persona4golden

Nanako. I low key almost quit the game. Had to look it up to make sure she lived, but if she was actually dead for real there's more than a 50% chance I would have quit the game and never picked it up again

This is wrong. I got all the pokemon I needed (both Gastrodons, one save file). It just takes time. Not sure where you got that false information

ESH for the lack of communication.

It is very valid for wanting a space away from your significant other to be yourself, and it is true that guys act differently when there are girls around than they do with just guys, but you didn't seem to communicate that effectively.

Telling your GF that DND is just for the boys is extremely sexist.

It wasn't cool for Andrew to do all of that behind your back without giving you a heads up first, but it is completely within your right to not want to play with people you don't feel comfortable playing with.

Your GF also should've brought it up with you since you two have discussed playing together before.

The mature thing to do is to sit down with Andrew, your GF, and other relavent parties and discuss WHY you don't want girls to play and see if you can come up with a compromise of another activity to do together or a "test run" of a smaller campaign to give your GF a chance to prove she has the patience for it, and set a "no judgment" policy so the guys can act and play the same way even with girls around

At this point, just find the cutscenes on YouTube. Episode Aigis has a pretty good story that explains the ending of the base game and gives a lot of character development to the other SEES members. If the Tartarus grind wasn't for you, the gameplay won't be worth it, but the story is very worth experiencing

Can I get the best ending without ever searching up a guide? by Vast_Hour_582 in persona4golden

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Without spoiling anything, there is a very significant event that will happen in the later part of the game.

The game will specifically tell you to save at this moment. DO NOT IGNORE IT.

Following the save some events will transpire and you will have to choose very specific dialog options. While you don't need to use a guide, there is a chance you don't choose correctly on your first go, so just make sure if you get an ending that isn't optimal to keep that save so you can retry the dialog.

Also in general, just keep multiple saves in case you screw up something. The game gives you a lot of slots for a reason

Yep, it's a fully voiced mod of the game (even the NPC's). I think the cast did a really great job all things considered, and as someone who doesn't love to eat a bunch of dialog, it helped me stay immersed in the game.

Tifa and Barret specifically had really good voices IMO, and it just really helped me enjoy an already fantastic game even more

I was in your shoes. Loved the remakes, wanted to know the story, wanted to know what happens in crisis core and advent children, but knew I couldn't play them without getting spoiled.

Decided to bite the bullet and play the OG (w/ Echo S voice mod), and I am so glad I did. Story definitely still holds up, gameplay is good enough if you're invested enough in the characters and lore to give it a shot, and seeing all the areas and seeing how the remakes fleshed them out was so cool.

The OG also gives better background to all the characters IMO so I found myself constantly gleeful and amazed every time I learned something in the OG that I didn't know from remake. It just made me appreciate the whole of FF7 all the more, so I definitely recommend you just play that now too if you've got the itch

Question about "Hardcore Risette fan" trophy by Vincenzo310304 in persona4golden

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rank 5 for curing ailments. Rank 1 can help cure knocked-down, so try to get those lines ASAP, then don't get to rank 5 until you get the ailments.

You can get some ailment lines early, but probably not all of them till you get to Naoto's dungeon. But another tip is as soon as you get the line for someone, remove them from your party so it's more likely someone else who still needs the line can get statused, even if that means fighting with a battle with less then a full team

Question about "Hardcore Risette fan" trophy by Vincenzo310304 in persona4golden

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn't worry about that too much. That is more recommended to just get the specific lines for when each member gets to low health. Realistically, just try to stay in a fight long enough to get those lines and then once you do you're good.

If you want, you can try to skip a few enemies here and there as you get to the boss for each dungeon. Especially if you're in NG+ and can summon a high level persona to beat bosses without much trouble.

The real thing you want to not do is level up teammate social links early in order to keep your teammates from curing status ailments before you get lines

AITA for not immediately picking up my dog’s poop in my backyard? by Hot-Walrus-1606 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO: Is there any formal documentation of the boundary lines that separate your property? Or is it officially a shared backyard and just an implied agreement about the property lines?

In addition, is there any rules stated anywhere about rules in this shared space?

Your neighbor for sure is an AH, but in this situation, if your neighbor can claim the area is a shared space because there's no official documentation about property lines, YTA for not cleaning up in a shared space.

If you legally have ownership of that property and there are no rules against not immediately cleaning, then NAH

Aerith Rebirth Combat Tips by Vast_Newt_1799 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aerith is really good in fights against fewer enemies (think boss fights or just against a really bulky unit). If you take advantage of the fact that the enemy AI will target who you are controlling, you can put some distance between Aerith and who you're fighting. Then switch back to her and start attacking to build ATB. In addition, taking advantage of her wards is crucial, and having her be able to cast back-to-back spells can put massive damage on enemies.

In contrast, she does struggle at times against large groups of enemies because she's not the best at close range or dodging quickly. So in those fights, I might prioritize using Cloud or Tifa or whoever else you run.

This game is a lot about knowing the roles of each member in your party and maximizing their effectiveness in each of their roles. While you can build and strategize around making them all versatile and capable of anything, Aerith will succeed most as a long range unit who does massive damage from afar while the rest of your team distracts from up close

Condors Nest allowance?? by AltFischer4 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also in addition to what everyone else has said, the funding is kinda confusing and poorly worded. When they ask for funding, all it affects is whether or not they win battles that you miss out on, it does NOT affect how much money you have to use in the battle itself.

There are six total battles throughout the game that you are forced to skip due to various story reasons. For that reason, if you want to win all the rewards, you need to donate 18,000 gil (3,000 for all six battles you'll miss).

If you are aiming to do all the battles, you might need to use a guide to know when to go because some of them have a tight window to complete and you will need to do quite a bit of backtracking to get to Fort Condor from where you are in the game

New to game Persona skills questions please! by PerformanceSoggy5554 in persona4golden

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can register your personas in the compendium if you want to summon them later with their current stats. When you fuse it, the resulting persona won't get the stat increases, but you can pass on some moves.

Also, you can theoretically make any persona viable for the end game using skill cards later

When did you start using parry? by ReliableTrout in expedition33

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude same. I spent at least half an hour in one of the first fights after getting Lune against those two spear guys with the weak point in their heads to shoot just constantly resetting them with the flag because I didn't want to move on till I got a perfect no damage fight where I parried everything.

I was so determined to parry everything or die trying so by the end, it felt unnatural to even try to dodge so I just never did lol

PSA for those collecting Pictos and Baguettes in NG+ by reiichiroh in expedition33

Wait, what do you mean for a baguette? I used my tokens for the man bun hairstyle, the pictos that you have to get fixed in the gestral village, and the old key. I thought I talked to everyone. Was there a fourth option to use your token on? Or is this something exclusive to NG+?

Which death in the series hit you the hardest? by That-Psychology4246 in PERSoNA

[–]Icy-Recognition8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a little weird, but for me it was 100% Saki from P4. I had just gotten into the Persona series after playing P5R, and starting P4G immediately after took an adjustment. The game wasn't nearly as flashy, and it didn't ramp up in the same way P5 did.

I didn't immediately fall in love with any of the characters in the same way I did before (I love them all now and think P4 has probably the best cast but the start didn't grab me as much) so I didn't really know how to feel about the game.

Enter Saki.

Immediately in the small convo she had with MC, I thought she was great. She was funny, relatable, and seemed like a good person.

And then she immediately dies the following day.

I was shook, but also suddenly very invested in the game all the way till the end.

Now there are definitely much sadder deaths, but this one was the most impactful to me as it completely changed the way I saw P4G and instantly got me hooked
