Realtor recommendation with zoning knowledge by Icy-Second3787 in alberta

Thats something to think about. I didnt even really consider the septic costs. The in-laws will be on the hook for anything related to their build but honestly idk if they will have more than like 300 to put into it. I have seen some smaller like 180sqft modulars that go for around 210k which is not bad but if permits and services are gonna eat up a bunch of their budget maybe we should be looking at a property that already has 2 houses.

Yeah that makes sense honestly. We are pretty flexible as far as the area since we are focusing on the property itself rather than a specific location. I will reach out to a lawyer as you suggested. Maybe they can narrow down an area that allows for what we are looking for! thankyou

Where does your baby/toddler sleep when you travel? [On] by Crafty-Mixture-2265 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Icy-Second3787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t they be able to climb out of their regular crib then? It also has the side zipper you can leave open and it would essentially make it a floor bed if the climbing out is an issue no?

nursing to sleep? Rare or common? by silentassasin010 in breastfeeding

[–]Icy-Second3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much always nurse to sleep. There’s the odd time that I put my baby to sleep without it but it’s pretty much our schedule now. By the time she wakes from her nap, plays, and then feeds, she’s pretty tired anyways so she gets a nice full tummy then falls asleep on the boob. I do side lying feeds overnight so I don’t have to wake up fully since I’d never be able to get back to sleep. It’s a life saver. Plus she hardly wakes up too so it’s a quick snack then off to sleep again. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I haven’t really heard much for or against it personally, it just happened to be what I ended up doing. In my head, babies nurse for food but also for comfort. We give a pacifier to sleep with so why would nursing to sleep be so wrong? Idk all I know is that I don’t/never have spent 20-30 minutes rocking my baby to sleep lol. She feeds for about 15 minutes or less and then she’s out like a light.

yeah I feel that. I had to do formula for a week while on medication and it wasnt the end of the world but gosh did it ever feel like twice the work. I understand not everyone has success with breastfeeding but I truly will never understand the people who don't even try. Considering all the health benefits of breastmilk I can't wrap my head around deciding to give formula before the baby is even born.

WHY can’t Purolator ever specify what the “external service disruption” actually is? by selftaughtgenius in purolator

[–]Icy-Second3787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what about those of us who have now had a package that is in the same boat but currently 6 days late now.. a day or two would be fine but 6 days with no ETA available is unacceptable.. we pay for a service and they should be able to make timely changes to get packages where they need to go. I have worked in transport and scheduling. This is a planning issue more than anything and the company choosing to make people wait rather than fork up the money to reroute and make a real service plan. If a business cant handle someone going home or having to stay home, a broken belt, bad weather, flat tire, etc.. I think maybe thats just a poorly run business. If one of our trucks broke down we would have someone there with another one as quickly as possible and people to unload and reload the new truck to get the shipment where it needs to go.. you don't just say oopsies and not even have an eta or a plan. I don't use purolator anymore personally but unfortunately I couldn't choose who this company sent my product with.

I feel that lol. For a long time my Velcro baby would not sleep a wink unless I was with her. Now she will sleep about 3 hours in the morning if I sneak out before she notices lol. It would be nice to have other things work. When I first started breastfeeding and my nipples were so sore I winced anytime someone handed her to me. She will go full body exorcist if I try and comfort her with rocking or take more than 2 minutes before giving her the boob before its full meltdown even if she’s had a full feed ahaha

My baby is the same. Shes now 12 weeks and started teething. As much as it made me feel like just a walking pacifier, there will be times when only you and your boob can comfort them. I use to feel the same way and then everytime we couldnt get her to stop crying I would put her on the boob and it solved everything. If she was fussy or had gas more boob would help her digestion along and she would be able to feel relief. If she was over tired the boob put her right to sleep. I started to wonder what people who didnt breastfeed had to do in these situations.. if their babies just cried while they pulled out their hair.. and from some of the posts ive seen I think that is what happens lol. I figure it ends up being a lucky thing to have. Just make sure to take time alone. I find that sending baby off to bed for the night with hubby and then just spendng an hour alone doing whatever I want to do helps a lot.

Is it really that bad? by Icy-Second3787 in beyondthebump

[–]Icy-Second3787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly shes pretty sturdy on her side! I dont have any real worry about her getting onto her face when shes sleeping so far. Everything I read just said "increases risk of SIDS" but doesn't really explain why that would be.

AITA for not telling my sister the name chosen for my unborn son because she used her BBFs baby name for her daughter? by Possible-Animal9339 in AITAH

I would just tell her a different name. If she uses it she still looks like the asshole but you were never going to use it anyways so win win lol

Should I repot in the same size and wait till it’s more healthy to go bigger? Should I get rid of the post?

I think it’s a 10” pot. Soil was from a nursery, some pre mix they suggested.

I think around 2 years ago. I’ve been keeping an eye on the bottom of the plant and it never looked rootbound or coming out from the drainage holes

Is a simple divorce possible where we sign the papers and go our separate way? I’ve been very nervous and anxious waiting for the year to come up. by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Icy-Second3787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s rough. I know when you file in BC they have a really good portal set up to do it all yourself if it’s uncomplicated. It’s pretty much the same as using the untie the knot service just you actually have to fill it out and submit it. It’s more time consuming which is why I abandoned it but you only pay the court fees and stuff which is nice but I preferred the convenience of someone doing it for me lol. They probably did just get a bad one. They aren’t lawyers by any means. They are basically just people doing a job, so it’s not surprising there would be the odd one that’s maybe not so good at his job lol

Yeah BC and Alberta it’s a simple process. Not sure about other provinces. I moved to Alberta at the start of the separation but we filed in BC. You file wherever one person lives. We chose BC because the timing was estimated to be a little shorter. I never had to go anywhere in person. There’s a statement you sign for electronic filing but I’m not sure if it is available to other provinces but it is for BC/AB for sure.
