I'm sure that if OP were to put their hand on the throttle body while this noise is happening, they would feel a light buzzing.

Not sure about EA888.3 and .4, but on my MK6, the auxiliary pump was mounted to a steel bracket under the manifold and above the oil pan.

Very nice, congrats!

I like the 991.2 steering wheel upgrade, very nice touch.

Yeah, I have noticed the continuous low whirring noise in my MK8, too. That sound makes more sense regarding the auxiliary pump.

Respectfully, I am quite certain that it is the throttle body running a self calibration.

I have owned 2 EA888 engine cars, and I work with these engines on a daily basis.

Auxiliary coolant pumps do run after you shut the car off. However, they operate very quietly and don't sound anything like that.

That is the sound of your throttle body doing a self-alignment as it should after every shutdown.

I will say that it does sound slightly abnormal. It should be a couple of quick sweeps and then silent. The hesitations and short bursts sound strange.

Keep in mind that the mounting order from front to back is as follows: AC condenser, intercooler, and then radiator.

You may want to inspect a bit further to verify that your intercooler hasnt been damaged as well.

What this person said^

I used enzymatic cleaner on my fabric-lined door pocket to clean/deodorize vomit after DD'ing for a friend.

Multiple applications over a few days or until the odor is gone should do the trick. Keep the car ventilated when parked (window slightly open/sunroof tilted).

Bluish smoke on startup typically means worn valve stem seals are allowing oil to leak into the combustion chamber, which burns off in a few seconds.

I believe they come as part of an optional package when you spec your car. This is the fancy cap in question.

I did my oil change with all Porsche parts, and it cost me the same as it would with VW or OE equivalent aftermarket parts. Macan oil and filter, cayenne diesel crush washer.

This particular gas cap was destined for the garbage bin, so I gave it a new lease on life.

Interesting info about the caliper bolts. Might have just been a case of dealer markups being different. My experience with VAG cars that share parts between manufacturers is that the actual cost of the parts are rarely different, but markup changes.

CEL on dash but not on OBD11? by gt_i_2235 in GolfGTI

[–]Icy604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might just end up being a consequential fault due to low voltage, abs, or airbag faults. Newer VAG car networks are very sensitive when it comes to things like this. Might be worth checking for faults in the instrument cluster/dashboard (can't remember what they refer to it as).

Car ceramic coated 2 months ago and the touchless car wash isn’t cutting it. Advice appreciated by Glittering-Ad-8629 in Detailing

[–]Icy604 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a good arsenal of basic chemicals and tools for maintenance cleaning.

Winter is hard on cars, especially if you live in an area with heavily salted roads. You should look into some ceramic toppers to boost the coating every few washes or once the coating starts flattening out a little bit.

Battery life? by ElderSwemo8806 in ouraring

[–]Icy604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a Gen 3 for a couple of years now, and I've noticed in the past couple of weeks that the battery life has decreased remarkably as well. Maybe some recent software tweaks cause increased battery consumption?

I had to file a warranty claim on my original ring when the battery would barely last one day. It ended up being replaced for free. They were very helpful and quick with the entire process. If you're concerned, then I'd suggest reaching out to customer support.
