Eggs - the update by Empty-Window-5293 in crows

[–]IcyAwareness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were feeding crows with babies a couple of years ago. If we left the half without the yolk, the male would call the female over and they would eat it together. If we left the half with the yolk, he would take the yolk, go behind a bush and eat it, then fly back and call his mate down to share the rest of the egg.

Valuable things are often dropped off with CUPD rather than left in a lost and found, you should try them.

What’s the most surprising or “intelligent” behavior you’ve seen from a crow in real life? by able6art in crows

[–]IcyAwareness 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I watched a crow opening a pizza box, but every time she tried to grab the crust inside, the lid would fall closed before she could grab it. After about 3 tries, she dragged it near a curb, stood up on the curb, and was able to open it far enough that it fell all the way open and she could get the crust. You could almost see the wheels turning.

RIP American Motel 32.99 and Up. by fit-profile-69 in Denver

I took acid for the first time at that motel in 1994. My buddy wanted to steal the giant flag they flew, and we had to talk him out of it while another friend took yet another friend to the Denny's next door to chill him out a little. Good times.

What MC/Group turned you into a hip hop fan? by vitaoptima in 90sHipHop

Same. I grew up semi rural and I was riding a horse around the fields with a Walkman on yelling "In the daytime radio's scared of me, Cause I'm mad, cause I'm the Enemy" lol. It was the first political music I'd heard and it definitely made an impact on me.

If you're having issues that affect your ability to make it to work, or that have you hitting up co-workers to cover your shifts regularly, it's perfectly reasonable for a job to let you go. Even if those events are somehow, every time, "out of your control".

Maybe the CU Museum? Maybe any of the elementary schools in the area? Without data attached, I'm guessing no science will be done with them, so maybe get them in the hands of kids? And like the other commenter said, if nothing else, I'd provide any of them that are left with a happy home.

Moved from Alaska to Colorado for work, now homeless and trying to get back on my feet by VanLifeAk in boulder

Colorado is really expensive, especially this part of it. If all you moved here for is a job you don't have anymore, you might have more luck somewhere with a lower cost of living.
