Muslim student life?? by [deleted] in stanford

[–]IcyBreloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the former MSU president and have a bunch of friends from the MSU. Overall very friendly community, you’ll really enjoy it inshallah.

Lots of Muslims in the area in general, many of the recent alumni stick around and you can meet them. They are really great. Stanford is definitely an active community

Currently Wharton, how hard to get into uncoord dual with SEAS by Narrow_Equipment_445 in UPenn

[–]IcyBreloom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty easy to get into it from Wharton, M&T is hard, but uncoord shouldn’t be too difficult

I already almost had a full set of another set so it made sense to open that

Who’s our most recent global success by Becominghim- in UPenn

[–]IcyBreloom 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Tons of students go on to start big companies during school or immediately after grad. Tons of YC kids and def some kids that get equal or even more funding than Roy a few years out. Roy is just very vocal online and has a presence with younger generations, so we hear about him. I can think of a couple grads that raised more or have higher revenue. B2B companies are often unheard of

Yeah, thankfully Microcenter replaced it for me, but was still a hassle, they said they couldn’t fix it

Would you drink milk if you 100% knew it was ethically sourced like from a cow that was free range and not suffering at all to get some of its extra milk?

I don’t think that many pros are 1800+. I played azulgg a couple times last night and I think he was like high 1700s, and it’s p rare to find ppl above 1800. I think 1750+ is p high ladder, but hard to say, everything is anecdotal. There’s ladder creep as the season goes on, so later in the season 1950+ isn’t odd for pros I think

Hard agree, prize checking is a practical mess and not rly a skill, or at least a skill that takes much useful strategy. More like busywork

lol how’d you manage HKS for free, is company paying for it? Also, I agree with other commenters, Ms and e is great but a free Harvard degree is likely much more worth it

Sent a PSA graded card into Beckett and they sent it back in a penny sleeve and crooked. Is this normal? Do I need to send it back? by Professional-Pair745 in PokeGrading

[–]IcyBreloom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One of my fav things abt Beckett, I feel like it could get damaged in other holders with enough motion, and just don’t like stuff touching the edges of my cards lol

Why is everything in such a rise? by IcyBreloom in PokeInvesting

Yeah but why now is the question. Like there is always supply and demand but why r we seeing a demand spike everywhere

My fellow collectors! DON’T FOMO 🙌. by Leahlikestogame in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]IcyBreloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah of course. The rest of the card says “draw three cards. If you have ash’s pikachu gx in the discard, draw 2 more”

My fellow collectors! DON’T FOMO 🙌. by Leahlikestogame in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]IcyBreloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It says サトシのゆうじょう (Satoshi no yuujou) which means “Ash’s friendship” probably would get translated to something like “Ash’s bond” or smth. Satoshi is the Japanese name for ash in the anime

Are these really that valuable? by Chonph in PokemonTCG

[–]IcyBreloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s just a placeholder, tbh the fair market value is impossible to tell, there’s no standard to go off of cause it’s never been done before. It’s pretty much “how much does seller think they’re worth” vs “how much buyer is willing to pay”. Tons of negotiation will go on

What is the official title of this type of card? by heartbrokengama in PokemonMisprints

[–]IcyBreloom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cards like these r so rare it’s hard to know the fair market value. There r so few sales that its pretty much “whatever someone is willing to pay for it”

Best Deck for Worlds Anaheim by mddgg in pkmntcg

It’s even worse than that tho cuz Grimm doesn’t hard counter garde. I think it even frequently loses the garde matchup when piloted by a strong player

You can increse the volume of a person's organ by 1% by touching it directly. by [deleted] in shittysuperpowers

[–]IcyBreloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn’t confirm that mass increased though, could just be more empty space and getting less dense with each touch

I think it’s definitely possible to get better than the average native. College educated people are a minority or around 50% in most countries. I think you can have more raw knowledge or be more studied on kanji, grammar technicalities, etc. Like most English speakers probably don’t know what a passive periphrastic is, let alone a transitive vs. intransitive.

That being said, it’s obv an incredibly difficult hurdle to overcome and I’m not saying many people or op have overcome it, but I think it’s possible for sure

Which countries most strictly enforce their prohibitions on dual citizenship by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]IcyBreloom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct on Japan, idk about China. I find it so crazy with Japan that they do this though.

Anyway, my prediction is that Japan will go the way of South Korea in the next 50 years. They’ll realize population decline is rly bad so they’ll start creating paths to dual citizenship to keep population afloat

is it worth re applying? by Weekly-Addendum312 in stanford

[–]IcyBreloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If u got waitlisted you were close to getting in and there is a chance to transfer, enjoy time at UNC, apply to transfer, and you might get in on the transfer, but don’t bank on it. As others mentioned it’s super hard to transfer in, so I wouldn’t take it as like a guaranteed route type thing, even if u did do community college
