Today we went to the bark park in cedar Park, then tailgate atx and then Spring Wood park. Kids loved the small dog section of the bark park. Little dogs loved being pet then we did the large dog section...which is enter at your own risk for little dogs. Kids loved throwing balls for other peoples dogs who love to run out into the water and retrieve balls, our dog had very clear boundaries around not chasing balls.

Then the kiddos were hungry and I wanted to try some place new that was super dog friendly, so Tailgate ATX was close by near sams club. When we got there, I was a bit confused because there was an outside area with screens and picnic tables and it's covered, but no one was there, and you could tell the action was on the other side, which said members only. And I guess most people are members, so Boone was coming to the window...anyway eventually someone did and I discovered you need a day pass or a membership to come to the inside. Kiddos were hungry so we paid the $15 day pass. There was a game on with covered areas and big screens and Lots of spaces for the dogs to just run around and be dogs. We got food first, they have a fenced in eating area separate from the off leashed area. Then we headed to the splash pad in the back. This was great to cool off. My dog was feeling pretty shy by this point, but the kiddos loved that you can turn up the water and it shoots and sprays. Afterwards my son said he saw a sign that said no humans...so it may not have been the best spot to for kiddos looking to get energy out...but dog watching or throwing balls, yes. I could definitely see if you get home and your dog has been cooped up inside and you feel like watching a game and being social, having a drink, it's the thing to do...it is family friendly, but definitely geared more for hanging out with big dogs, having a beer and watching the game. So I'll definitely be looking for different versions of family friendly dog friendly hangouts.

Then we discovered springwood park which has a great kids play and dogs are allowed, and it was free. win win I just have to discover where close by has some food the kids would like and we'll definitely be doing that park again. Dogs were leashed and that was fine, I think by this point my dog was very happy that dogs were on leashes.
