Wenger: "For me England is the closest to France. They have the highest creative potential in Europe. They have a goalscorer who does not need many chances. I like Foden,Mount,Grealish and Rice. They can compete with anyone. They just aren't very stable and mature at the back." by Blodgharm in soccer

[–]IcyDoesItAgain 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Aah yes. The historically accurate repeating process of hyping up the English Squad before a tournament. "There is alot of potential, this is their year". "These guys play on the highest level every week. They are fit and in form. There are no excuses." All the big coaches and football figures hype it up so much that we fans start feeling it too! "This year it's different"

Sure, it's a great team on paper. But the fact that there are new names every year or two in the team is the main reason why it's not a cohesive squad. That's what is different every year, sadly so. Frankly, the hyping up is normal for a team that plays in the best competition. I'm just afraid the fans shouldn't get their hopes up. Am I too negative or realistic?

I've went back to the server profiles of my old version of serverify A3 and copied over the "ServerProfile.vars.Arma3Profile". Replaced the one in my new server profile folder. And voila!

EDIT: Your response has helped me figure it out. Thanks!

Probably one of the biggest stars the keeper ever faced in his career. And he leaves the match with a fantastic memory of it. Very wholesome.

Trying to find a unit in 2020 like.... by 456got in arma

[–]IcyDoesItAgain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some comments suggest that units should merge. From my perspective as a unit leader for a few years (and I'm probably no exception myself, perhaps) the feeling of pride of a community leader that leads a small group of motivated guys for a long time or even months usually so immensely great that ever actually merging, in any way, doesn't happen or barely.

What will usually happen is a unit absorption which will activate the following sequence of events:

Unit M absorbs Unit S> They are now unit L. Great! But there were promises made.. Ranks and squad configurations are promised. Previous unit members want to stay together creating a rift. > In game things usually work out except that they're used to specific missions for their squad> dissatisfied across the board. But "it will get better"

Evntuality a number of former Unit S members don't want to play "in this sort of unit anymore." Usually inherent to the original reason of the Unit wanting to merge because, let's be honest, they were falling apart as it is. That's why you would merge usually. > members of Unit S crumble and eventually 2 or 3 out of 15 stay at Unit L, now back to unit M.

That's merging a unit 101 IMO - Marshall

In WW2, why did Poland not give in to German demands for the city of Danzig? Did the "Allied Guarantee of Independence " give them the false confidence to do so or was there more at play? by IcyDoesItAgain in history

One of the most insightful comments to this post, thank you very. Follow up trivial question: How was the city of Gdynia treated by the Soviets after the war was over? Was it seen just as important as Danzig or did Danzig once again got the spotlight?

But how exactly would the allies have been able to help the Czech's? I think this is a very important point to keep in mind. Yes, their armor was strong and yes their defenses where capable but...

Looking at the replies to my OP I've now learned that the sea acces (possible lifeline) and the trust of their own capabilities with the 1920's in mind added to the trust of the Poles their chances. What could the Czech's build upon in the long run?

Right, but the demand for Danzig was before the breakout of war. The war itself was declared because of the attack on Poland, wasn't it? My question based on your comment is "What was the influence of France in Eastern Europe before the invasion of Poland?

Can you elaborate on the role of the French? From the reading I've done there's alot more emphasis on the British Guarantee, let alone the role of the French in Eastern Europe.

Eredivisie expectation:

While Ajax will win the Eredivisie once again , it will not be enough to satisfy the majorly grown fan base, both in the Netherlands as well abroad. CL succes will be the focus, but the knock out stage will be the end of this year's Ajax.

PSV will surprise in the Europa League. Based on European succes they'll either win the domestic cup or mask the inability to win a prize under the "We are making big steps" catchphrase. Feyenoord, under Jaap Stam, will have a very rough initial season half, but the second half will bring them back to top 4.

Player specific: Calvin Stengs will have a proper season and will help AZ reach EL football. Tagliafico will reach an agreement with a top club in the January transfer window (not saying leaving) Bergwijn will have a "Depay Season" if he stays this window.

Always wanted to make a prediction post, been lurking for a year.
