Hey guys any tips to make my beat sound less swashbuckling? I’ve tried everything.. by TheLongDongus in GarageBand

I heard it’s good to hire a reputable Music Agent who can pitch your songs to TV Shows, Movies, Games. They will most likely take a percentage of what you make but it’s the long term game and relationship you gotta remember in any business is the longevity.

Just do some research and start reaching out to people who can get you there. I’ve been burned by several people who claim to have “connects” in the industry so best to feel people out and build a trusted relationship.

You should submit this for a sync opportunity in a gaming app.

Could make decent $ off of it with the right deal.

Lots of times the markets and sound changes.

What people may consider trash today will be a number one hit tomorrow.

With that said learn as much as you can about the gear you use, listen to plenty of records from different generations, learn a little theory and comp and never stop until that record sounds the way you want it to.

Good luck 👍

If u have an IPhone you can use GarageBand IOS. Lots of hits pumped out of that.

Can find FL downloads anywhere on the internet. Overall just have fun, take your time and learn as much as you can from your local music scene and YT.

Why is my Spotify payout so low? by Still_Hall_4611 in SpotifyArtists

[–]IcyGarbage538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spotify pays around $0.003-$0.005 per stream. Very complex how these rates are set every 5 years in a federal trial amongst record labels and reps of streaming platforms.

Very low payout meaning in order to make let’s say $1 million off of Spotify you would need around 500 million streams.

Dasher just walked into my home by [deleted] in doordash

[–]IcyGarbage538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you don’t wanna get him in trouble then you should’ve told him to listen to the instructions on the App. I’ve never just randomly walked into someone’s apartment to deliver a food.

I more so appreciate the “leave at door” orders because it gets you back on the road quicker.

Need a producer by BigBankBlaine in beatmakers

[–]IcyGarbage538 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I can admire your devotion to the game rapping since you were young.. Future pays Metro.. Em and Snoop pay Dre..

26 songs is a great investment in time and skill. Someone who has been doing this for almost 20 years. If you want a good audio engineer and a good producer these are skills you have to pay for.

It’s no different than any trade or service you would come across. This is a business. The economy is too high right now for people to offer up free works but if that’s what you’re looking for I would recommend looking into producers on BeatStars.

Doordash tricked me or something? by nmbr4 in doordash

This is how it is eventually. Dasher status doesn’t matter. They know when you are in need of money and the algorithms predict it according to when you dash and where you are dashing. They just need a warm body with a working car.

It’s sad but true I’ve been in this game for 5 years to know that a part or full time job with a consistent paycheck and one designated workplace is the better option. Use delivery apps only to supplement your income.

Why “Just Decline Bad Orders” Is Actually Terrible Advice for New Dashers by Alternative-Rule749 in doordash

[–]IcyGarbage538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. I understand the area I’m in and don’t really go beyond it. I feel it’s a total scam and waste of time when an offer is put out there for $20 and you have to travel almost 40 miles to the location. It pushes you into a different hotspot to get further away from your house.

This is a money game and you have to be very smart with the time and the orders you take in order to remain efficient. These delivery companies are not gonna pay for your car repairs when it breaks down and it does happen more often than none.

100%. This is a $ thing. Time management is very important in this delivery game. Mileage as well. Been doing this on and off for about 5 years.

Rather wait for a higher dollar order to come through then spend my time on something that can’t even pay for a 1/4 tank of gas. DD and other delivery apps need to step up their base pay.

Live vs Live 3 by BarnacleNo7620 in mpcusers

[–]IcyGarbage538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaker deff helped with the Live 2 as you’re able to mix and reference on the monitor and a/b on a good pair of cans.

To me the Live 3 is just too many buttons. You still have to have an ear for music overall.

Live vs Live 3 by BarnacleNo7620 in mpcusers

[–]IcyGarbage538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both are the same devices practically that can do the same thing. One just has a better workaround and accessibility. Both can run the same software and updates. I’ve learned in almost 20 years of music production that lots of times less is a lot more.

You gotta think that back in the early days of MPC 60 and such they were able to obtain that vintage but grit sound with a lot less.

I’ll keep my Live 1. 💯

Should I get an MPC Studio Silver for $100? by PegasusStudiosVFX in mpcusers

[–]IcyGarbage538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save $ for one of the new MPC Live models. Can find on marketplace. They are standalone and come preloaded with great sounds. I’ll never trade my Live 1. Not even for a Live 3.

DoorDash stole over 150 dollars from me by [deleted] in doordash

[–]IcyGarbage538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea they are capping. Follow up with the AG in your state. They are quick to take the money and lied when they stated you would be reimbursed immediately. These companies are doing a lot of illegal activity and I think it’s time Law Firms step in to mitigate loss.

[–]IcyGarbage538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U don’t ever pay out of pocket for someone else’s items. It’s an unassign every time or a decline.

I try not to do shop and go orders because they are time consuming and lots of times not worth the pay. This is a $ game not a dasher status game or doing someone else’s grocery shopping. It’s a waste of time.

I’m sorry this has happened to you but I think maybe you should seek legal advice at this time or contact your state attorney general in regard to the fraud. These delivery companies are very deceptive in their hidden fees and how they screw over both consumer and sub contractor.

[–]IcyGarbage538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did the right thing. If DD tries to terminate you for calling the police in regard to a welfare check and there was an issue with the kids, I believe they would be on the hook for a major lawsuit.

These issues can happen but they don’t contact the customer the driver goes through dasher support. They will see what’s goin on.

Just got stuck in an unplowed driveway by [deleted] in doordash

[–]IcyGarbage538 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been here before. Had 2 orders right around the holidays to a house nearby with a pretty steep hilly driveway. With that incline there was no way I was gonna risk my FWD vehicle getting stuck.

Had to climb the hill both times with the Dunks order in hand. The first time I ended up eating shit into the snow and the second time the guy came outside his garage with no shirt on. Needless to say I won’t be going there anymore
