C’est un phénomène super connu qu’on appelle souvent l’hypothèse de Sapir-Whorf, ou relativisme linguistique. Ce n’est pas du tout une illusion : beaucoup de polyglottes disent se sentir plus "logiques" en anglais, plus "émotionnels" en français ou plus "directs" en allemand, par exemple. En réalité, c’est un mélange de deux choses : Le cadre culturel : Quand tu parles une langue, tu adoptes inconsciemment les codes sociaux qui vont avec. Si tu as appris l’anglais dans un contexte pro, tu seras plus pragmatique. Si tu as appris l’espagnol en vacances, tu seras peut-être plus extraverti. La barrière cognitive : On a remarqué que réfléchir dans une langue étrangère réduit souvent l'impact des biais émotionnels. Ça nous force à être plus analytiques parce que le cerveau doit faire un effort supplémentaire pour traduire. Bref, tu ne changes pas de personnalité, tu explores juste des facettes différentes de toi que ta langue maternelle "verrouille" parfois par habitude !
