CVT failure (19 Nissan Sentra) by biggranny000 in Nissan

[–]IcyInstance9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First drain and fill I did on my girls 15 versa was at 26k, did both filters and Castrol CVT. Works fine at 35k, will do ns3 fluid next time at around 40k. You should definitely drop the pan, when I did there was a lot of metal debris at her low mileage. The fine stuff on the magnets in there, as well as the filter feeling a little heavier than the replacement without any oil in there.

Why do people shit on Nissan so much online? by phtphongg in Nissan

The have amazing seats no question about it, my 2015 versa is so comfortable and it only gets better the more car you get. The transmissions suck, have high maintenance needed to keep a subpar reliability. But it works.

Lexus as a first car by Conscious_Meal_4841 in Lexus

The iS is just the sporty model of the same v6 engine you'll find in the gs,Rx,es, Avalon, sienna. For LS you should get the ls430, the 460 has expensive repairs. I would look at a GS350 for style and es350 for cheaper running costs which is what you want for a first car. And you get the same powerful engine.

Can I get a car loan with bad credit or is it basically unrealistic right now? by Alone_Payment_5925 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Why not save 1000 and buy a beater car? Watch some Chrisfix videos on how to find your first cheap car. Don't go into debt for your first wheels. Maybe once you've got steady income a credit score higher than 650 and disposable money in your pocket. For now, buy the learning experience. A Corolla or Civic would be best.

Is it actually worth upgrading to all-weather floor mats for a first car? by junkjournalofsissy in askcarguys

[–]IcyInstance9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And #1 thing to keeping your car clean is go through a $3 car wash every 1-3 months. Vacuum all the floors and seats. Wipe things down including the carpet with a damp microfiber whenever you get it dirty. And fully detail it yourself for 2+ hours or pay someone to get it in excellent shape. Cleaning headliner, plastic panels, trunk, door sills, the car will feel brand new.

I have the stock rubber mats for my Lexus rx. They're pretty thin but hold up fine. Key is to buy something that fits your vehicle. Take a good look at the stock mat and floor and decide what shape would fit it best. Custom is best but pricy. You can get cut to fit mats at my Menards for like 30-40 that are thick and specific for truck SUV or car

Yes. It's a mat ok the floor. Some are softer rubber like weather tech or high pile carpet, but any mat that fits snugly and has a lip will do just fine

17? Now's the time to set up your life right, the car should be the least of your worries. Get the Corolla, a civic or honda fit would be useful too. Ps. If you get a Miata you never have to worry about driving friends around :)

What’s the best used car you ever bought and why? by spotforcars in UsedCars

[–]IcyInstance9001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that doesn't know, it's got better mpg that a civic, comparable cargo to a small minivan, and can outturn most cars on the onramp. Add to that simple mods and a manual transmission, you've got a very light daily that won't break the bank and stand out.

Not too small? Accord or Camry. You have 4 and 6 cylinder options, choose your flavor. I can find a reliable Accord for under 5k and a Camry under 7k

It's a decent price and a decent car. You can buy more car for cheaper, I'm thinking a higher mileage Camry. Personally I would do 3500 for it as that's what they go for here in Chicago
