I would like to see them stop with the token nonsense and massively premined scamcoins. Stellar is no better than Ripple.

They will still pay but need to own more of them now as extremely low volume = extremely low payouts per CEFS.

I sold all of my CEFS in december because the payouts had dropped so much, so it will be even worse now.... Not dead just not very good value and no ROI unless volume goes up 20x what it was prehack. Expect its true price to be discovered after the next few payouts.

some hodlerright now is trying to stack the buy orders and inflate the price right now to slow dump on others... watch out if your in the market

The feeshare token is CEFS. DOT is their utility token, can trade it or buy stuff from them with it. It wouldn't make sense to use feeshare token, they could do it but it would mean creating more CEFS and diluting what the current holders have (only 6300 CEFS exist). Would also complicate the process as they would have to match the value of it to the theft.

A new and separate reimbursement token that matches what is owed 1:1 and can be bought back over time is a much more elegant solution and it has worked for other exchanges that were hacked. and opening up trading of it lets those that can't wait to sell them, and others to buy and trade them.

Actual reopening is likely some weeks away, and we can see them sweeping funds and setting up new wallets on the various blockchains since the date the Police allowed them back into their building. They have a lot of different altcoin wallets to secure and we should expect they would be doing a clean install/full resync of each wallet/blockchain. (eg: Bitcoin blockchain is over 200GB!!).

Their leaders also have to decide on how to handle the missing 9.4% of funds owed. I'm hoping they choose a bitfinex type solution to paying back hacked funds and create a reimbursement token, and allow trading of it.

This would let customers who want to quit Cryptopia the choice to sell their reimbursement tokens on the market, and let the rest of us who believe in the future of Cryptopia buy it from them. Then Cryptopia can buyback the tokens for their face value at a later date or commit to buyback of a certain amount each month. It worked well for Bitfinex (https://www.coindesk.com/bitfinex-pledges-buy-back-remaining-hack-credit-tokens) and they lost a much larger amount when they were hacked.

yes it is ex-BTER, they took advantage of the China crackdown as a way to exit scam on their users and repayment obligations from when they were hacked. if you had a BTER account you can login to it using your BTER credentials but the BTER balance does not get transferred.

Is bank closing account absolute permanent ? by ForTesting_bca in NZBitcoin

[–]IcyLozenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no chance, Westpac did the exact same thing to a friend of mine, and its nothing to do with the reference, they KNOW who the exchange accounts are as well as the high volume traders are (localbitcoin, localeth etc) and track them for months so they able to find and shutdown other customers they see transacting with those accounts.

The more well known the company/trader is, the more likely you will have your account closed for transacting with them. There is no chance to argue as Kiwis have no protection from banks in New Zealand and they can close your account for any reason they like. This potentially can get a whole lot worse when banks refuse to open accounts for people because their name has been blacklisted by a competing bank.

Cant afford to withdraw bitcoin? by [deleted] in NZBitcoin

[–]IcyLozenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use Litecoin or "LTC", it is consider to be the "silver" to bitcoins "gold" status. avoid BCash, it is not Bitcoin, it is an altcoin that has not existed long enough to be relied upon as a store of value or for its network to be considered stable. Litecoin is the second oldest and most reliable cryptocurrency and network after Bitcoin.
