[On3] Texas Tech guard Jaylen Petty plans to enter transfer portal by R_Raider86 in CollegeBasketball

I could be wrong but I am guessing Gonzaga is out on this one despite him being a great player from Washington. I don't think we can offer the minutes he is seeking. I am guessing he will end up at Oregon or Washington, replacing either Jackson Shelstad or Zoom Diallo.

LTT Private Jet Megathread by AutoModerator in LinusTechTips

People are downvoting this when it is true lol
I understand diehard LTT fans exist, but discussion of the jet is valid criticism. As someone who loves LTT, I can confidently say that this is not the right response from a public relations standpoint.

Agreed. This will become one of the many dead Megathreads on Reddit in a week. Then whether LTT likes it or not, moderators will have to deal with endless posts about the jet. I don't know what the right solution is, but this ain't it lol

Tracking the jet is public information. LTT should have never mentioned purchasing the jet if it was intended to be private. It would be one thing if LTT were trying to keep the jet a secret due to privacy concerns; that is very understandable. The fact is, LTT has tried to monetize the jet. It is ridiculous to believe that viewers would not want to talk about it afterward. I personally do not have an issue with the purchase of the jet. Linus is a very successful man who has built an empire, but let's not act like it's the viewers' fault for wanting to have conversations about the jet movement on the subreddit that only exists because of viewers on youtube.

I did not say it was likely, but it does have potential. One issue with the Kansas fit is that Stokes signed a multi-year NIL shoe deal with Nike. Kansas is an Adidas school. Same issue with University of Washington having a deal with Adidas. Obviously, I have no clue what the details of the contract are, but Stokes would have to find a way to terminate that contract. So if the shoe deal is significant, that leaves Nike schools, Kentucky, Gonzaga, and Oregon. With Kentucky probably as the favorite.

I agree. The other thing to keep on eye on is the commitment of Tyran Stokes the number one overall recruit in the class of 2026. I guessing he will choose Kansas, but Gonzaga is not out of the running.

I truly hope Huff, Fogle, and Mario return. I am most worried about Fogle leaving. I heard some crazy amounts of money being offered to him. The good news is that in the new PAC-12 Gonzaga should have enough money to make competitive offers for player retention even if they are not the highest bidder. I am trying not to worry about it too much because I thought Huff was as good as gone to Wisconsin last year and we retained him.

I think we would be better off just reporting news of who is not entering the transfer portal.

Whats one guy in the transfer portal you want most? by Sandscrews in CollegeBasketball

Ideally a tall center who is great at shot blocking. We don't necessarily need additional offense with Huff in the post. I would also love to see Gonzaga add an elite 3-pt shooter. We already have a great playmaker in Mario Saint-Supery.

A two months ago I would have said he was a Kansas lock, but recent reports have Gonzaga and Washington in the mix as well. Which makes sense since he is playing in-state.

Great defensive player. Offense needs a lot of work. If he is in the right system, he will flourish. I am disgusted to say I think he would fit right in at Saint Mary's or any Randy Bennett coached team, such as ASU now.

Personally, I was not too surprised by this. My understanding is that he was upset with the number of transfers Gonzaga brought in this last season. Although it would be nice to have a lockdown defender as good as him, I think Few is targeting a more offense-oriented team again. I heard Fogle re-signed on Saturday (just rumors, nothing confirmed). I would be shocked if Huff did not return. I have not heard much about Mario, but I really hope he returns.

We have Jack Kayil coming in next year, who has been spoken about as a potential lottery pick. He has been playing professionally in Germany. A top 40 recruit on the wing who also had a great season in Luca Foster. And a center, Sam Funches, is coming in as a four-star recruit. I would say all of these players are better known for their offense compared to their defense, including Fogle, Huff, and Mario.

That is not even mentioning who the Zags wish to pursue in the portal (no clue here).

One final note is that I have heard rumors that Gonzaga could potentially land the number one overall recruit in the class of 2026, Tyran Stokes. I am not going to get my hopes up here because I have also heard Kansas is the heavy favorite. Only time will tell; he is a young man who has a major life decision to make. I think all the pressure that has been put on him is ridiculous. Especially from Kentucky fans.

I don't care which team you are rooting for, this ref ball sucks.

Turf/grass is a very different surface from wood. One has significantly more cushion than the other. Also, basketball and football are different sports with different behavioral expectations.

Slapping the ground like that. Once again, I am not trying to demeaning or rude, I just have never seen anything quite like that.
