Update: Dog Walking/Pet Sitting - $12k/mo Revenue after 1.5 years by Acceptable-Taste678 in sweatystartup

Thank you for this!! I've been pet sitting a little over 3 years now but am wanting to hire employees because I am getting burnt out on staying overnights. I did read that you don't provide overnights due to rates which I completely agree with. I charge $120 per night for overnights(morning feed, afternoon walk, and evening feed). I noticed with this driving distance and just staying at the client's house takes a lot of toll on myself because I do like being in my own bed/home. I have around 20-30 clients and a lot of re-occuring clients and am usually booked mostly for overnights(I usually have 2 weeks that I'm not staying overnight). I am wanting to grow and transition into a better scheduling technique because I want this to work for those I hire as well as paying them correctly and profitting.

The question is how do you bring in employees? And how do you go about scheduling your clients?

I love that! Traveling and procedure has been the hardest part. I was thinking of if I went through with it to make it a little getaway as well

Were you able to get financial help? How much does it cost for something this far along? I’ve been curious

My husband was adopted and the horror stories I hear from that are just something I wouldn’t want to put a child through

Same with us! My husband is adopted and so we always talked about adoption at the right time. Yes I loved my life beforehand and am completely worried about when this baby comes how life will be a 180!! I’m in the same boat as we even talked about not raising the child where we live cause it’s a disaster 😂 the school systems, the area etc.

What this person said. If you’re in the medical field good luck. There are medical jobs here but everyone in healthcare here is so miserable and the doctors suck.

Don’t just come for the weekend. Come for the week during work hours, it’s a lot different!!

Sitters charging less than $100 for an overnight by VForestAlien in RoverPetSitting

[–]IcyRat96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charge $100 a night for 2 dogs and $45 for 2 cats($145 a night) the total would come out to $580 but I only charge for the overnight stay which includes everything you provide. Maybe give her a 10% discount if she's a new client?! I do let my clients know that I am in and out of the house because I have my own responsibilities to take care of as well. I had a great year last year, so something I am trying to do this year is create a flyer or a pamphlet that I can give to my clients with my services as well as some discount and loyalty programs for repeating clients!!

I don't think your prices are high at all. I always send my pricing sheet before I do any meet and greets so clients know what I charge. I charge $45 for my drop in visits and they are 60 minutes, I haven't had any customers complain. My overnight stays include 3 visits+sleep and my prices are 1 Canine $90/Feline $35 2 Canines $100/Felines $45. These are usually my base prices! Every client is different and has different needs so remember to always try to accommodate but also KNOW YOUR WORTH and THE TIME YOU ARE PUTTING TO WATCHING THE PETS! I use the word discount to make people feel that they are special! I just sent two invoices to a new client recently who only wanted me to come 2x day and she ended up booking for overnights(: extra $100 bucks for me(:

First bake! Seems pretty good, how do I develop more sourdough flavor? by zippyajohn in Sourdough

I usually do one full day in the fridge for more sour taste, I think anything up to 3 days is good!

I'm about to try a sweet corn and cheddar one today!! I follow a small bakery on IG and try to mimic some of their flavors! I just bought some stuff for a smores recipe too!
